Question about SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Can't open the drive

I put in the flash drive, I see the small icon at the bottom come up "Found New Hardware" "Your hardware is ready to use" etc. But I'm not getting an icon to open the drive, and it's not even showing up in My Computer. The info on this drive is very important.

Sometimes there is an issue assigning a drive letter. You can try to assign one via right clicking on My Computer and select Manage. Go down to Disk Management and find your USB drive. You can right click it to reassign it a different drive letter, one that is not being used. Hope that helps, let me know if this does not fix it, as there are more steps to try, just a bit complicated.

What can i do? my jetFlash V85 is unknown

Connect your flash drive to your computer using an available USB port.

If your flash drive is not recognized, you'll usually receive an error that says "USB Device Not Recognized."

Click "Start" > "Control Panel" and open the system configuration by double clicking the "System" icon.

Navigate to the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button to open the Device Manager.

Click the "+" next to "Disk Drives" and locate your USB flash drive.

A question mark icon should be shown to the left of the label.

Right-click the device name and select "Uninstall."

Open the "Action" menu at the top of the Device Manager and select "Scan for hardware changes."

This will scan your PC for any new devices.

Because you uninstalled the flash drive, it will be detected as a new device and the drivers will be reinstalled.

Click "Start" > "My Computer" and look for your flash drive.

If this process was successful, your flash drive should now show up under My Computer as a storage disk.

If its listed as an unknown device

Then right click on your flash drive select rename

Hope this helps

I just purchased an 8GB USB 2.0 flash drive from SanDisk Cruzer. I plugged it in, it recognized it then opened to documents what do i do next?

Its now ready to use. You can add any files into your flash drive, use it on any other pc by plugging it in. You can delete the files and add other files if u need.

All that you need to keep in mind is , do 'safely remove hardware'(which can be done by clicking at removable hardware icon located near time in taskbar) option before you remove it physically.

There you go !!!

How to install a USB flash drive

Just plug your USB flash drive into the USB port of your computer or other USB-equipped device and drag the files you want to take with you into the folder that appears on your screen. Your files are instantly transferred to your USB flash drive. To transfer the items on your USB flash drive onto another computer, simply plug your USB flash drive into the computer that you want the files transferred to, open the folder that appears on your screen, and drag the desired files onto the computer's desktop.

1.) Insert Flash Drive into the USB Port of your computer.

-Where is my USB port? It is usually found in newer model computers in a hidden compartment on the front of the hard drive and in the back of the hard drive on older computers. The port for laptops is found on the side or back of the computer.

2.) Wait for the hardware to automatically install on your computer.

After the hardware is installed, it is ready to use!

3.) In most cases, an Options Window will automatically open. Select "Open folder to view files" Click "OK."

How do you save files on a sandisk cruzer flash drive?

Insert the cruzer into the usb port. You should see a message pop up and say new hardware found and then flash off. It may also say usb memory or storage device or even recognize it as the cruzor. This recognition process is fairly quick say 5-10 seconds. After that the computer knows what the cruzer is and its ready for use.

The cruzer is now seen as another drive or storage drive on your computer. Your hard drive is usually C , the CD/DVD would be D drive and the cruzer would be seen as E. If you are in a program and want to save to the cruzer you open the file/save and you should see E drive or Cruzer if not click on my computer and look for it there. Once you find it just click on it and then hit save/ok. Thats all there is to using one. Once you know how to find it as a save option or a loading option then you just treat it like a hard drive.

Once you get it sorted out you will use it a lot. They are very handy.

A Dummy requires simple instructions/reassurance in connecting/using Micro Cruzer Flash drive with windows XP usb connection.Auto synch??? etc

Just plug it into an available USB port! Wait a few seconds and watch the bottom right of your computer screen for the status. It will tell you that the computer has detected new hardware, that it is some sort of hard drive, that it is installing appropriate drivers, and then finally (30 to 60 seconds later), that your new device is ready to use. Then just double click on "My Computer" (if it is displayed on the desktop), or under the Start menu. There you will see an icon for you new "hard drive". Just double-click on it to open it. Then open another window containing the files you want to copy to the flash drive. Then you can copy stuff to it just by dragging your files from an open window to your flash drive window.

Usb flash drive

It is simple to use, simply plug it into a working USB port on your computer and Windows or Mac will detect it as an external drive device. You will find the new drive under My Computer. The bottom right may display a "found new hardware" or something similar. Once you find your drive, open it and choose what you want to put on it. Just drag everything you need onto the new drive. There is a possibility that you have to format it first. Do do that, just right click on the drive device and choose Format. Use FAT or FAT 32. To remove the USB drive, find Safely Remove Hardware close to the time, right click it and select remove. This is more important on a MAC because data could easily get erased if removed without giving instruction to remove it.
