Melissa I think you hit the nail on the head! If it was running great before power outage, and problems started after! Power Surge sounds correct to me! below is a link for the service manual! As for board, sounds likely! Check the board for burnt fuses, I think there is 2. Sorry i can't help You more! Good luck!

Geezer, sounds like a defrost issue. I usually find the bi-metal to be the culprit on this model. Check out the pic. You will have to remove the back panel in the freezer and defrost the evaporator. Remove the ice maker if there is one. The back cover has 4 quarter inch screws. remove those. The air vent has 2 plastic clips one each side and one on the bottom, push in and pull the grill off. The thermistor cover has a slot for a flat blade screw driver, push in and pull the cover off. The thermistor will now slide behind the back panel. Check the bi-metal for buldging. As long as the evaporator fan is working, it's probably a defrost problem.

your sure the defrost cycle works? sounds to me its not. you need to remove the freezer back and check the defrost components. or put it in the defrost cycle and see if it is working. to get that much frost as you describe the dor would have to be left open. also check all door seals. let me know what you find and we can go from there

The problem is ice build up on the back wall. The noise you hear is the fan blades hitting the ice. On the back wall water gets trapped, it then builds up over time, and a big ball of ice forms and blocks the fan. Take off the back wall, defrost the build up and cut the insulation off as above. The water will no longer get trapped and the problem will not come back.

Check to see if your drain tube is clear. Sometimes it freezes up at the base of the rear cover in these bottom freezers. Causing an ice dam.

check the fan relay and the compressor to make sure it is still working...if not there is a capasiter you can replace to get it to work again
When the freezer section gets cold and reaches
its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section
starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool
air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over
ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the
air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge
section does not cool. Its defrost problem. Try
manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet
for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,.
If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of
fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from
online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

MORE... There is sml amt of frost on back of freezer. In test mode, cold air blows from vents in freezer and in vent on left side in fridge compartment, but hardly any cold air on the right fridge vent. The fan in back next to coils runs in test, but not in regular operations with or without freezer door open.
