Dispensor display going haywire/ ice shoot valve opening by itself

Came home from work today and the display unit on the front is blinking every light and the ice dispenor gate valve is opening and closing by itself. I unplugged it for a few minuites and it worked fine , then after 3-5 minutes it started again. I checked the connection at the top of the door and it was ok.

No I have not, I think it is probably the circuit board in the door if so it costs about $60 I am holding out to see if someone knows a fix that has had the problem.

water and ice quit dispensing. Then about 40 minutes later, Lights keep blinking and the ice door kept flapping. Saturday night so no one to fix until Monday probably.

It is not the circuit board in the door, it is the one in the rear of frig. I had the same problem, and replaced the front board with no results, replace the HV board and fixed the problem..

Just replaced the water filter on our side by side Kenmore 53569202, thinking that may have caused our ice maker to quit working. when opening the door to the freezer, there is a red light blinking twice...

You could have ice in the water shoot which formed because your inlet valve is clogged. The inlet valve is locater in the back behind access cover. Melt the water shoot with a hairdryer and then replace your inlet valve. Fairly inexpensive and easy to change. The reason the water shoot becomes ice is the inlet valve get slower and slower water flow which gives it time to freeze on the way in to the ice maker. Hope i helped, Rate me.

Got ice but no water

It could be the water valve side for the dispenser. So a coupleproblems can be had with this description. 1. The electricsolenoid for the valve is bad so it doesn't open the valve. 2.The valve itself could be bad so the solenoid opens it but nothingflows. 3. The water line could be frozen inside the door so nowater flows. 4. The dispensor switch is bad or the plastic holderthat holds the switch is bad so the switch fell out of its properposition. 5. The circuit board is bad.

Easy way to check is to pull out the fridge and take the water line offthat valve by pressing down on the little ring around the line whilepulling up on the line (tube thing). It should pull out easily(to reinsert just push the tubing back in without holding the littlering down, it goes in by itself and self-seals). With the tubeout of the solenoid valve have someone operate the water dispensorlever and see if water shoots in your face ha ha. Read further ifyou're testing by yourself...

You can also do the same test from the front underside where the tubinghas a coupling just under the door hinge area (so you can take the dooroff without cutting the tubing). Pull the lower skirt off the front ofthe refer and you should see the tubing and little coupling, it worksthe same, push down on the ring area and pull the tubing out. That way you don't have to move the fridge and can operate thedispensor lever yourself to see if water flows out the disconnectedcoupling. If water flows then the valve/switch/circuit board areworking fine of course and your tubing is frozen at the door. You willneed to defrost the tubing somehow, usually means a hairdryer blowingup into the dispensor area or turning off the whole refer and leavingthe door open for a day.

If nothing happens (no water still) then you need to check if thesolenoid is working electrically. Pull the fridge out and pullthe wire plug off the icemaker valve and put the wire plug from thedispensor valve on the icemaker valve. Watch inside the icemaker andpush the door dispensor lever, if water flows into the icemaker thenthe electrical door switch/circuit board is OK and the problem islikely the solenoid valve to the dispensor is bad or a frozen line inthe door still. You get the idea, you can swap wires/valves andeven tubing (if their the same size) around till you logically find thepart not working. Remember in troubleshooting you're not reallytrying to find the broken part... you're trying to find ALL the otherparts are working, which by process of elimination will lead you to thelast part that ISN'T working.

If you are comfortable with electrical troubleshooting using amultimeter you can check for 110 vac at the plugs when the switch ispress also but that depends on your tools and skill level, etc.

See this link for a diagram of that door assy and the parts involved.

Typically I'd be suspicious of the valve itself being bad or thecircuit board, next on the list is the switch, and last would be thefrozen line.

Good luck and let me know what you end up finding!

If nothing happens then you are down to either the circuit board is bad or the switch is bad.

I have a kenmore 106.52603100 side by side refridgerator. A few days ago we found water in front of the unit on the floor, it appeared to have come from the ice maker and it is now not working, no water is...

First thing to check is if the water inlet tube is blocked with ice or not. Often this is the case and people have their icemakers replaced with no luck. It the tube is not frozen with ice, then check the arm that turns your icemaker on and off. this should be in the down position. There may be a reset button on the front of the icemaker.
There is one solenoid that control water to the icemaker and a different one that supplies water to the dispenser. Often the Ice solenoid will quit. If you are good with an electronics meter, you can test the resistance across each solenoid....they should each measure the same. If one reads open or much less then the water supply valve is bad.

Panel flashing, ice door opening and closing constantly

That is a faulty icemaker solenoid switch, or a contact on wiring.

Water dispensor not working

Since you have water getting to the icemaker/dispenser, the most common problem I've seen is the solenoid valve is history and needs replacing. It could also be the switch that is normally activated by the dispenser itself and in turn activates the solenoid valve or the wiring in-between the switch and valve, but I have personally not seen either one of those go bad.

Panel flashing, ice door opening and closing constantly

I had the same problem, with this model and it was the high voltage control board located in the rear. Replaced the board and it is working OK. Maytag Part # 12920710 will work on this model and it is 40.00 cheaper than the one it shows when you do a parts search. It will come up 12920709. I checked with Maytag and they said 710 will work..

No water at the door

If the solenoid valve doesn't click anymore then it's either bad or not activating anymore. Check that the switch behind the water lever is not broken or has fallen loose inside the door panel. You may be able to put a finger up there and try to push it without using just the lever. (sometimes slamming glasses into that lever over time breaks the switch attaching pins causing the switch to fall off inside). Take the front panel off and visually check that switch itself to see if it is still being held in place. Activate it by hand (not the lever method) and see if that water solenoid valve clicks again and water flows. If you have no water to both the Ice Maker and door dispensor at all (clogged filter?) check the main water line for clogs/debris, etc. If you are making ice still then water is at least getting to the ice maker and that means only the door water valve or switch is bad. The link below may help you "see" inside with the different diagrams, etc.
