Update BIOS for memory upgrade

You cannot change the memory settings in BIOS. All you need to do is go into the bios screen. confim that it has seen your new memory and "save and exit" If it is not showing your new memory try removing and reinstalling the memory confirming it is installed correctly. it should just see it.

Gigabyte Socket A GA-7VA Bios update failure

You can try to save the motherboard w/ a floppy, and if that doesn't work, go to gigabyte's website and request for an RMA. I made the same mistake in trying to update the BIOS through @BIOS after it updated, it assked for me to restart the pc, and when i did, the was nothing. All i heard were the fans. Nothing on the screen, and it obviously wasn't posting. So go to Gigabyte so you can get another one, and tell them there's a flaw w/ the application @BIOS. If by any chance you update the BIOS, try it w/ a flash drive under DOS. Good luck.

Need to reset bios password for acer 4620 laptop. tryed removing battery on mb . no good . ? passmord bios

Try removing the main battery and the CMOS battery (ie the battery on the mb). If you don't want to wait for 1/2 hour for the CMOS to discharge then short out the CMOS battery connections with a bent paper clip.
Then without instralling both battery, power up your laptop, you should then get into the BIOS, power off and re-install your batteries.

Computer will not boot after bios update

you updated the bios?

Its possible that your bios update failed and the bios is now corrupt.

try to rest the bios by th bios jumper, consult your manual or just remove the power and the battery for a hour and try again.

If the bios is corrupt it would need to be removed from the motherboard and reprogrammed.
