Actually you need a filter on the power supply of the DVD unit since this is what is causing your problem. putting a spike suppressor on your audio in is not a bad idea, but it will kill some of your bass response.

Try purchasing a "ground loop isolater", when your head unit and amp are grounded in 2 diffrent locations the diffrence in volatage to ground between the two will cause interference. Check the below link for more details, can be purchased of a shelf at you local radioshack http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.... loop&parentPage=search Hope this helps L8R

I think the amplifier is bad on the alpine iva-d300.

What kind of setup do you have in your car? Stock sound system with just this aftermarket head unit?

I have an alpineIVA-D300 and I think the amplifier is bad. The screen works, radio goes to channels but I get no sounds.I have tested the speakers and they work

This may help. Alpine typically controls their internal amps one of two ways:
1) menu setting for external amp or defeat internal amp
or
2) top of the unit (with it removed) there maybe a series of switches by channel (front, back and sub) on the unit. My current alpine has the switches on top.

Installing

I'm guessing you did not buy this unit new?
There should be another cord coming out with an odd shaped plug on the end.
This plugs into a required external amplifier that the unit would have included if bought new.
You could contact Alpine and find out if they can sell the amplifier separate, or check Ebay and other sites to find one.

I ran across the exact same thing as both of you guys and did a lot of research. I was told by someone very knowledgeable that you have to also change the small DC to DC power supply to match the D300. Its the small 3 inch by aroudn 2.5 inch silver box that is plugged into the back of the unit. Apparently after that it should work. I haven't got one to test with but if you do please post if it works. THanks

No sound from Subwoofers

Did you check the gain level on the amp? Sometimes a bad or loose ground can cause this also. Was it working previosly and it stopped or did it never work at all. Let me know. Hope this helps.
