Background picture quality poor (mosaic)

My TV has a color problem, the background color looks mosaic/off color then the problem comes to the forefront (people/faces) then goes back to the background. TV guy came out did a 30 sec look over and said buy a new tv. He said it was possibly the power supply. Which part would I replace?

Re: Background picture quality poor (mosaic)

Do you have external speakers close to the TV? This may be the cause.

My Vizio flatscreen 60" HD tv background music sound overpowers talking. How can I lower background music? When no background music, the sound (talking) is perfect.

This is typical of sound systems that come with TVs, especially flat screens. You need to look into purchasing an external sound system, such as a sound bar or a surround sound system. That way you can have better control of background/voice ratios.

Is there a fix for poor audio quality on KDL 46ex500?

Do a factory reset to this set, and check. If it do not help you, check its speaker/s. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

In older times, this would be something in the video circuit. I am sure that's what it is on your TV but I do believe it will have to be fixed in a shop.

AOC PD4264 Screen fault

Extremely blue color temperature that cannot be adjusted; some false-contouring artifacts in dark scenes; no picture-in-picture; limited connectivity with just one DVI and no HDMI inputs.
If use as a TV monitor:
The number of colors you can display is controlled by the video card installed in your computer. In order to display more than 16 colors, the proper video card driver must be installed. Contact your computer or video card manufacturer to obtain the latest driver from them.
If you are watching standard-definition or Cable/RF signal on an HDTV, the picture may appear to be of poor quality. This is because the TV is designed for viewing HD or at least digital content. Your best bet would be to upgrade to a Dish Network HD receiver and connect it to the TV with an HDMI cable. Similarly inputting analog signal to TV from your DVD player will not appear to be of great quality. A newer DVD player would most likely have component video output which would look much better. To get even greater quality, an upconverting DVD player connected with an HDMI cable would look the best. You could also upgrade to a Blu-ray disc player, which is capable of playing HD Blu-ray discs as well as DVD's at higher resolution. A less expensive choice could also be a streaming media box. Hierarchy of inputs for good picture quality:

Green hue on all inputs

Most likely there is a failure in the video processing. The flickering was from the failing components breaking down.

Your set can be serviced by an experienced tech who has spare boards and the facilities to service your set.
