Re: boot

3F8 is a comm port address, try removing modem card if you have one. Once you can get into bios setup, disable comm port that is using 3f8.

Re: boot

CORRUPTED BIOS Reprogramming the BIOS That depends on your motherboard Model. It should correspond to your BIOS Model. Download the Motherboard's BIOS file usually in a Zip file then the contents are .bin files. Then use the BIOS manufacturer's EPROM Programming tool. Which usually comes with a user manual or guide on how to's. Just follow its examples. Hope this helps ======================= If you are having trouble with Newly bought items save your self from headaches by returning them and demand a replacement or a refund! When I turn on my packard bell computer on it comes up with a black screen saying "Boot from CD / DVD" and a BIOS password?

Remove the battery on the motherboard to restore default settings.
check the connection to your Hard drive (the system is not seeing it)
The battery removal will take care of the password, and you will be able to get in the BIOS.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

My computer stopped working some time ago, and I was pretty much certain my hard disk had died (SATA), so I bought a new Hard drive (SATA) and booted my computer....the bios didn't detect the hard drive,...

try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive one bad lead will cause a computer to shut down

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

hope this helps

Im 12 years old and i cant find my wep key on a packard bell computer. can someone giv me a step by step walkthrough to help.i need the wep to connect to the computers wifi on the ds

I would be suprised if you are using WEP. Most modern networks use either WPA or WPA2(which the DS does not support unfortunately) as WEP is older and insecure.

My suggestion would be to contact your parents or whoever manages your network and ask them how your network is configured.

Chances are the notebooks adapter is broken. Take a look at this link & it will show & explain how to repair the jack.

Please read everything on the link.
If this is too tough to fix you're self. I suggest you take it to a pro. At least you'll all ready know what needs fixed.

Good Luck!

Have you tried using f8 during bootup and starting in safe mode? If not, once inside windows in safe mode you can adjust video settings, ect. Also, you can use system restore and go back to a point when things worked.

If your onboard video isn't working your only option might be to install a video card. You can also try checking if there any bios updates for your motherboard.

Since you forgot the password best thing to do is make the cmos forget it. The way to do this is remove the cmos battery. Take it out for several hours then put it back in. This will reset the cmos and you should gain access.
