Yes. LP is direct heat to the exchanger. The thermistor operates through the control to the electric heater.

SOURCE: not working on ac on propane freezer gets down to

There was ohm resistance there, but not a lot. After removing the heating element it only gets hot in about a 3" area of the tube/element. Transfer of heat was present but not a lot, you could touch it anywhere on the tube but in the 3" area. A typical hot water heater element either works or it doesn't meaning it it "open" but his has me baffled as I can't find any specs as to how many ohms it should read.

When I turn it on to the heat cycle the fan does not run, I have swapped the control board with another unit that was working and still get the same result the unit runs on all other cycles.

This is not true if your system is a heat pump. When the thermostat calls for heat, and the burner ignites the gas, a thermal sensor switch senses when the hot box has heated and then the sensor turns the fan on, this is so no cold air is blown into the ducts and living space. Also, another sensor senses the heat box if it gets too hot, cuts out the burner, if this sensor is not working then the burner will never light. Two sensors that may be keeping the heat from working among other possible causes, one step at a time in trouble shooting. Does the burner turn on at all?

I have a Maytag fridge model # PSB2151GRW without the ice maker , there is a steady build up of ice on the bottom shelf of the freezer and a puddle of water on the floor ...

Ok so here comes the fun part. Unplug the frig! Two people due this much faster. Remove all food and shelves from freezer. Get ya some bath towels place them on the floor and some on the bottom of the freezer. Take 2 coffee cups and heat them for 3 minutes. Remove them and remember they are hot! Pour a cup of hot water where the ice is and let the towel soak up any water. Now fill that up and heat for 2 minutes now. Pour the other cup on the ice and keep rotating until the ice is gone you will see the drain hole which is going to have ice down that tube so keep pouring hot water until the water drains into the drain pan below. If you can't clear the drain tube use compressed air or a turkey baster can help out too. Wipe down the inside of freezer walls to eliminate the condensation now your ready to party... Don't forget to plug the unit back in the outlet!

According to the manual the following is the most likely items to cause that failure. But since it is only in the frigerator section and not the freezer section it could be the lower circuit board.

LP Gas

Orifice

Flue Baffle

Flue Tube

Burner

Lower Circuit Board

If the freezer is cold the compressor is Ok. Now if its a two door fridge . Open both the doors while the fridge is On. Press the lower door switch ( the lower light should turn off and you should hear the fan humming sound come on ). While holding the door switch pressed close the freezer door, you should see cold air come out of the slits in the back of the lower compartment. If not icicles have blocked the passages due to the non working of the heating coil. The heating cycle is controlled by the timer switch located near the compressor at the back. Unplug the fridge and remove the timer switch.Note the color of the wires and mark on the old switch. Replace and it will work.Only frost free fridges have heating cycle.

The cold air passage in a modern fridge is made out of thermocole . It will take you more than 24 hours of defrosting to remove the ice. I had to use a hair dryer to melt the ice even after 30 hours. Thermocole is a fantastic insulator. If you want to avoid melting the insulator blow air into the vent from the refrigerator compartment using a vacuum cleaner in blower mode ( reverse mode ). After a few minutes of blowing, hot air will come from the vacuum cleaner which should do the trick

It's not abnormal for the condenser to get hot especially in the hot and humid weather we've been having. Usually atleast some of the condenser coils are welded to the inside of the sides of refrigerators and freezers. Depending on how hard the unit has to work to keep it's inside cold the outside gets hotter.
I hope this helps.

Heats up the rapidly decreases within in minutes.

Problem new or old? How long you have unit? Sounds like not enough flow to keep burner on. Tankless need at least .6 gpm to keep hot water flowing or else the burner fires then shuts fires then shuts and you get a sandwich effect...hot cold hot cold. If you have new diverter valve in shower -vs- old two handle type try turning hot water ALL the way ON and see if hot stays hot. If it does stay hot then slowly adjust to cool and see if you maintain a good MIX for proper temp. If it goes cold again try this......LOWER control pad setting to a comfortable 105 degrees (ladies) 100 degrees(men) and turn shower valve all the way to HOT. See if your temp remains consistant now and if it does then problem solved. Tankless mindset...set temp on control pad and stop trying to MIX at shower valve. Thats how these things work. Thats why I install a control pad in each bath and one in the kitchen for adjusting ash temp during dishwasher on time. ditto for wash machine. You should never need to turn on cold water if your unit is set to proper temp at controller. Hope this helps
