Looking from inside the radio at the mic jack, with the nub down. Starting from the left is pin 1, pin 2, pin 3, pin 4, and pin 5.

here is the colors that should be attached to each.

1 is white.
2 is sheild.
3 is black.
4 is red.
5 is blue.

Hope this helps. Take care in soldering. It is easier to reach the pins if you remove the 4 screws that hold the face plate on. Be careful not to pull another wire from somewhere.

put on a different mic and see if it still happens.I am going to attempt to draw an insert so if it works follow it if it doesn't I'll explain it.
this wire is the audio on the inside of mic
-------------------------------X-------(4700ohm 1/4 w res) ----X---------
.001 .001
this wire is the shield
-------------------------------X-------------------------------------X----------
at the point marked with X take two .001 capasitors and wire them from one wire to the other. this should make your squeal go away.

When i keyup my d104 mic on cober 148 gtl ihear feedback squeal.but the d104 work good cobera 2000 gtl

try to keep the mic away from the radio speaker.check to see if its turned up to high.check your mic gain to make sure its like 1/2 open.If these fail then you could solder two 0.001 ceramic disc capacitors from the audio to the shield wires about 3" apart.then on the audio wire in between the 2 caps solder a 4700 ohm 1/4 w resistor.this should work.

The problem is in the audio output chip usually bolted to the inner chassis. Sometimes the chip developes a hairline crack, replacement recommended.

If it is a 5 pin then..

here is the colors that should be attached to each.

1 is white.
2 is sheild.
