Question about Acer Aspire T690 (AST690UP820A) PC Desktop

Interrupted set-up installation of ACer Aspire T690--Now what?

The computer was installing Windows, and I (stupidly) interrupted the process. Sigh. Now it will not boot at all and will not install Windows.

Any advice will be much appreciated. I have tried booting in Safe mode, but it didn't get far enough to even be able to manage that.

Grr. This was my fault, but I don't know how to restore things!

Thanks so much.

Hi--It didn't come with a cd at all--except a Vista upgrade. I think I'm getting the BIOS Screen, and it says the Acer logo and tells me to hit F12 and then gives me options. But none of them work.

Thanks fo much for trying. I ordered the recovery cd from ACER, but didn' think I should have had to!

    Your Alt-F10 was the solution.

Hi there.

Not sure if you've answered this, but have you tried to boot from the Windows disc again, and re-install Windows from the beginning? As this would re-format the drive.

When you turn the system on, and it comes up with Press F12, try pressing Alt and F10, and tell me if anything happens. Also, what options does it give you when you press F12?

Acer Aspire t690 Desktop Freezes or reboots with in minutes of start up...Running Windows Vista. Help???

It is possible that your computer is overheating and is shutting down to prevent it from doing any harm to itself.
Make sure that all fans are clean, there must be no dust present as it hinders airflow!!!
Install as many fans as possible. Computer temps should be in the region of 30-40 degrees centigrade. To avoid CPU throttling, where the CPU slows down to prevent frying itself.
Please take the time to rate my expertise.

COMPUTER PROBLEM

You can't. You interrupted the process before completion, and therefore you may have lost any or all data, and possibly corrupted the operating system. You can try to start the machine, if it will allow you, and run a system restore to the latest date available. This may get the system back to the point where you began the interrupted restore, but most likely you will have to reinstall the entire operating system.

Computer problem

Acer has a web site where you can download software for your Aspire 5580. Your Laptop has a intergrated sound chip, XP may not have installed the driver for your speaker/sound system. You can try downloading at the link below (page 2),"
Audio driver v.5.10.0.5273", or you can install your audio driver from the restore CD that came with the notebook. No restore CD's! This site has everything installed onto your notebook.
