Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

Insert sim card message

I have an unlocked Blackberry and I am gettng an insert sim card message but my sim card is already in it. Can anybody help me with this issue?

    what exactly am I looking for? it is a brand new phone so they should be fine.

Insert sim


As far as I know.there are two possibilities to get this error..

1)Sim card not inserted properly:

Try to insert the sim properly..insert it at the desired position

2)Phone may be locked with a particular network:

If the phone is locked with a particular network then you need to unlock it.You can get the unlock service for your Blackberry 9360 Curve from either your network provider or third party unlocking service provider like, unBBlock.com and remove the network lock. Once unlocked it will work with other networks.

3)Sim Problem:

Mostly this won't be in your case because the sim had been working fine with your previous Nokia mobile and also the phone gives the same error message when you insert other sim cards.

4)Hardware Problem:

There might be some loose connection give it to a hardware service shop and check.

Why blackberry 8830 world eddition says insert sim card when it's already in, this happens wwhen it's in gsm, but wen I changed to the other one it says searching for CDMA, plus help

Call your Service Provider and advise them of the problem. You need a new SIM card.

Hi i am from india and i have just purchased blackberry verizon 9530 and now i want it to work on reliance network in india how do i do that....the device is already unlocked and is able to work on gsm...


if it is unlocked then you can try it by inserting the sim in your handset. Please contact reliance customer care and ask them to activate blackberry services on your phone. If you are not able to use it then contact blackberry service center they will help regarding this.

It's a clear and fully detailed guide on how to unlock any BlackBerry :

1. Insert any sim card
2. Turn off all of the wireless connections
3. Go to Options
4. Select Advanced Options
5. Select SIM Card
6. Hit menu select show keyboard (if your BlackBerry have touchscreen)
7. Type MEPD ( you will not be able to see what you are typing )
8. Type MEP2 or MEP4 ( you will not be able to see what you are typing )
9. Now the phone will prompt you to enter the mep code
10. if you not already have the code, then i suggest BlackBerryMEP.COM to get it from .
11. Enter the mep code ( you should see "code accepted" )
12. Restart your BlackBerry .

All done.
