Question about Gateway M305CRV Notebook

NO SOUND MY GATEWAY M305CRV HAS NO SOUND. HAVE REINSTALLED XP HOME, STILL NO SOUND. TRIED THE TROUBLE SHOOTING TO NO AVAIL.

You may not have installed drivers for your sound card. Please follow the instructions in this excellent tutuorial to locate drivers and update them by using your device manager. Update windows drivers

If you still have your Gateway Driver and Application Recovery CD you should use this.

Ps. Try to check bios ( press F2 at start-up) to see if audio is enabeled

XP Pro3 - Clean install - No sound


I solved the problem by going into BIOS and resetting the audio controls. Thanks for support. It's reassuring to know there is such a service on the web.

Gateway 7210gx no sound


You either have installed the incorrect driver or you have a faulty audio device.
Check the Device Manager, if there is a yellow ? against the audio device then the driver for that device wasn't installed.
Make sure you download the XP or Vista version of the audio driver for the Windows version that is installed on your laptop.

Hi, you still need to do the updates before you can put software on. On the desktop go to START....ALL PROGRAMS....then at the top you will see an item marked UPDATES. Click and go from there, it will download a lot of items as long as you are connected to the internet.
