If you have a ni-mh battery pack, some people report success by identifying positive and negative leads and tapping with 50v welding current + to + , - to - for a second or two to shock the nickel crystals out from the cell inside...

you can also rebuild your battery pack by replacing the cells (they look like c cell batteries)....

but if you have lithium cells DO NOT shock them as they'll blow up in your face and maybe kill ya...
ni-mh could too... (but not nearly as likely)

basically your battery is dead, and you need a new battery.

Can I charge the magellin GPS using a wall charger, plugged into the USB port on the GPS unit if I had rechargeable batteries in it? Or will it blow up? Lol

Yes your magelon already has rechargeable batterys so when in your car you keep it plugeg in all the time.I had a adapter plug with the same voltage output but the positive negitive is backwards. If while pluged into your y fi cord turn on the magelon go to settings you should be able to see the battery leavel if it is stuck on full charge then the y fi cord isnt working but if it is charging from low bar to top bar it will work if not you can buy a wall charger made just for that and again you dont need to replace the batterys unless it wont hold a charge for longe when removed from the car but that is usual for those gps,s not to hold a charge for long when out of the car thats just how it is.

I have an Acer Aspire 3610 notebook. It wont charge

How old is your battery? When you use your laptop, do you run it on just the battery or do you use your a/c adapter and battery? If you're going to use your laptop for an extended period of time, it's recommended to remove the battery and run off of a/c power alone. This helps to extend the life of your battery. Over time, using both a/c and battery will cause your battery to charge/discharge, which dramatically shortens the life of the battery.

You may simply have a dead battery.

Another alternative is that you have a bad power unit, which is what the a/c adapter plugs into on your laptop. My guess is that you most likely have a dead battery.

My netbook wont boot, i turn it on and i will hear the fan but nothing else, i was using it everything was going well, the batery ran out and it went into sleep mode, i pluged it in and since then i canot...

Leave it plugged in for about 10 minutes. The battery just needs to charge a little more. Then you can come out of sleep mode.

If it is locked in sleep mode. Just hold the power button down to shut off the computer. Let it charge, you can now reboot, and keep charging after about ten minutes.

Not charging

I found out how to solve this problem...first power down your computer. Then take out the battery, remove the power supply, and then hold down the power button for 30 secs. Put the power supply in only (not the battery). Start your computer after everything is done loading up put the battery back in. Give it a min. and then you should be able to roll your cursor over the battery life indicator in the lower right corner of you computer and is should say charging. I have found that other people have had this problem and it has worked for myself and for them.

Acer aspire 3500 wont hold charge or turn on

remove the battery and see it the power comes on, if so bad battery, check the connector where the power plugs into the laptop, sometime this breaks or has a cold solder joint, you can test this by wiggling and looking to see if the power lights up. last and worst case is a bad main board.

My charger won't work so now my computer wont turn on

Unplug you ac adapter from the wall and plug a lamp in to verify that the wall plug is working correctly. Pick up the adapter to see if it feels warm. Most adapters will feel warmer than room temperature if they are working,
If the cords on your adapter can be unplugged from the adapter, reseat them. Try the ac adapter in another wall plug to see if it comes on. The adapter may have an LED on it that indicates whether or not it is on. If it doesn't, about the only way to check it is to use a multimeter to see if there is any voltage on the plug that goes into the back of the laptop. If something else will work in the original wall plug and the adapter won't work in another wall plug, you will need to obtain another ac adapter.
Once you've tried these things, let me know and we'll go from there.
Thanks!
