Turn off LP tank valve. let sit for 5-10 minutes, then slowly open LP tank valve. opening the valve too quickly cause a ck valve to close. It's a safty in the event of excessive gas escape like a damaged regulator or hose. just barely crack it open and let the system balance. do not open suddenly.

First pull the ignitor wire off the ignition module...hold a screwdriver 1/8 to 1/4 inch away from the electrode pin on the module then turn the unit on to see if it sparks differently than what you described before you replace the ignitor.

The electronic ignition on a gas water heater will not heat up and glow red to ignite the gas to heat the water atwood r/v water heater

You won't see any red glow until the burner ignites and burns for a while. Its only an ignitor and flame sensor, not a glow plug style. The ignitor has to provide spark for gas to ignite, then it also senses the flame and keeps gas flow coming. What exactly is happening when you turn it to on?

Time to get a new tank. The life expectancy is between 10-15 years. You are probably spending more in natural gas to heat than the tank is worth.

New gas water heater pilot light will not ignite

Hi .. if this is a brand new heater, then you probably need to have the gas line bled. This means getting all the air out of the gas line feeding the burner. This can be done by constantly trying to light the burner or poilot . or it can be bled down by a HVAC tech.
