Question about MSI Computers & Internet

1 Answer

New Video Card fan sometimes won't spin (in new self built pc)

NVIDA N295GTX MSI graphics card fan sometimes won't spin making the idle tamp on the card go up to 70C.

Sometimes the fan does spin up no problem and won't stop until next boot up, idle with the fan < 50C.

I haven't over clocked anything.
The PC and Vidcard are both about 2 weeks old.
I'm wondering if I need to RMA the card/

I would RMA the card if the fan refused to come on. When it is not on and you begin testing the card, does the fan come on at that point? How do you make the fan come on other than turning on your computer? If the fan isn't on to begin with, but comes on when you start playing a graphics intensive game I would not RMA the card unless Nvidia support suggests it.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

New video card doesn't work with minecraft

Hi your fan sounds like it is in trouble... If you have cleaned the dust out, find the fan connector on the GPU board. Check to make sure that it is plugged in all the way. If it is, try some software (like MSI afterburner) to adjust the fan speed to see if it responds.

If the connector is properly connected, and it is and and still doesn't respond, you will need a new fan...I hope this helps

Card didn't work while fan is running

That is a really low end video card. The same card is available for $10-30 on bidding sites. Get another one or upgrade to something with more horsepower if you like games or watch video. Just make sure your motherboard will support the new video card. THe one you looks to be a standard PCI (older format).

My HD 4850 fan is not spinning correctly. It will spin normally for a few moments, then make a cranking noise, then start moving extremely slowly, and sometimes it even stops. Now it is not even spinning,...

Your heatsink fan on the graphic card is failing and the motor is going down hill, now saying it has completly stopped..,.. that means the fan motor is done for and need to be replaced to avoid further damage to your graphic card. Would reccommend you not using your graphic card until a new heatsink fan is replaced otherwise you can fry your GPU and suffer a complete loss.

I have assemble a new PC with VGA Card (PCI-E) but doesn't work

Yes , you need the extra power adaptor to your video card.
I would contact the seller or go to your local computer store taking the video card to make sure you get the correct adaptor.

Graphic card problem

Hi BIOS21, I know this much. I know you're motherboard can not use a PCI-Express video card. You're board can not support SLI. I know from looking & reading the manual for the MSI KM4-L you're board supports an AGP video card. I also know some AGP video cards need extra power for them to function. This varies from card to card. You did find an open power port on you're AGP NVIDA 6600 256MG 128bit card. So plug in the power cord. Every AGP card receives power from the AGP port. Enough to run the fan. Depending on the card it may also need more power provided by the system to function. This is you're case. The power connector would not be on the card if it was not needed. Other AGP cards use the same power cord as a floppy drive. (Just so you know).
