HP 4650 stops at "initializing"

HP 4650 turns on, does the count up to 128MB, HP logo appears then it stops and only "initializing" on display. I've removed jet direct cards and replaced. I've changed out the formatter as well. Any other ideas or soloutions? Thanks!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

HP Laserjet 4345MFP
Backlight on printer display does not light.
Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible)
The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else.
It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

Remove the Jetdirect card and try it. These tend to cause this fault. If not, possibly down to the formatter board

Message "card slot not initialized

The HP Color LaserJet 4650 printer also has three flash memory card slots for printer firmware, fonts, and other solutions. The HP Color LaserJet 4610n does not include any available flash memory card slots.
■ The first CompactFlash slot is reserved for printer firmware.
NOTE Use the first flash memory card slot for firmware only. The slot is marked “Firmware Slot.”
■ The two additional CompactFlash memory slots in the HP Color LaserJet 4650 printer enable the user to add fonts and third-party solutions, such as signatures and personalities. The slots are marked "Slot 2" and "Slot 3."
--- These card slots are located inside the Formater unit. Most likely you either are missing the firmware card or it's defective.
Hope this helps!
good luck!

49.4401 service error on start up

Solution or Workaround:

1) TRY to flash the firmware.
2) Try cold reset and disk initializations.
3) Replace firmware dimm.
If you have a hard disk:
To resolve the issue it may be necessary to perform the Disk Init procedure.

Disk Init Procedure
1. Turn the printer off, then on
2. When the memory count starts on the control Panel, press and hold the Menu button until all 3 lights on the control panel are lid
3. Press the < button. The message “INITIALIZE DISK” appears in the display
4. Press the Check button. The printer will initialize the User space on the Compact flash and will continue it’s power-on sequence.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

2. When the memory count start Press and Hold the "Menu" button.
3. Release the "Menu" button when all 3 LEDs are illuminated.
4. Press the 'back' button.
5. The display will then show "Initialize disks".
