Question about IBM ThinkPad 600E 2645 Notebook
Error code 174 on startup
I have an error 00161 and 00163 on my thinkoad how can i overide this issue

IF YOU CAN USE A SOLDER GUN YOU CAN FIX THE CMOS BATTERY. the battery is located under the access plate that covers the ram cards. simply unplug take wrap off battery cut wire off battery get new battery and solder wires on new battery. then plug up. i had to do the samething for mine

That usually means a bad CMOS battery (its like a watch battery that stores your systems settings and time)
It will have to be replaced by you or at an IBM authorised support center.
