I have a GE Adora Dishwasher that is appx 2-3 years old. It consistenly makes a rumbling sound in the wash cycles. It will occasionally run properly but most of the time it makes this noise. It otherwise runs fine and the there is no problems with the dishes at the end of a cycle. Any advice?

-   I have a similar poblem. I have a GE GSD2200 model and it makes lous groaning noise when it goes into the wash cycle. Sorry for my ignorance but I cannot figure out the solution. I have a middle sprayer arm that comes up during the wash cycle, how am I supposed to tie it to the top basket, how do I role the lower basket in, if I tie it up ? Can you explain in a little detail on how to fix this? This noise has been driving me nuts for months. I am very close to calling a service technician, I would apreciate your help.-   pintudee

-   Same problem, with a little bit different fix, I had to cut a piece of 3/4 pvc tubing about 4 inches long then cut it lengthwise in half to use as a top and bottom spacer. Then i secured it with two plastic tie wraps. I had to do it that way to align the input tube to the outlet port

I have a Quietpower III Adora dishwasher with the same complaint, and have had it out on the kitchen floor several times trying to find the groaning problem. I was 90% there, having eliminated anything under the tub and the back of the countertop, etc. and had already put in a piece of foam rubber between the top tube and the top of the tub, but that still wasn't the problem....when I browsed for "dishwasher groaning" and found this site. THANK YOU Vish and others!
It seems the middle tube is indeed the culprit, and tying it at the rear, where it meets the outflow of water seems to help the best. Now I can start to rekindle the love affair I've had with Adora for a couple of years now. It's finally quiet again!

We have been living with this noisy so-called Quietpower II for weeks and I was actually considering buying a new dishwasher.
I tied a wire tie around the middle spray arm tube and the noise is gone. My dishwasher is quiet again.

Thanks a million for the advice.

This one is a known issue and an easy fix.
Use a tie wrap to securely tie the water tube for the middle spray to the upper basket. That's it. Believe it or not, it's that simple. You may want to secure it at the front and the back. To test this you can use the tie wraps used to closed the plastic grocery or bread bags. If this solves the problem you can buy a bag of nylon tie wraps from any hardware store.

I had a similar problem with another GE model with a similar problem. The dishwahser used to make a horrible grinding noise during the wash cycle. One I secured the middle sprayer arm the grinding noise went away.

There is a little plastic holder for the water tube of the middle sprayer. When it breaks (and apparently it does easily as I have had my Adora dishwasher only 6 months), the tie trick does work.

I had the same problem with my GE Quietpower 2 growling during the wash cycles......driving me crazy for months. Went online to find your suggestion about tie wraps or a rubber band. The rubber band did the trick! I couldn't believe it. I lived with this noise for months. It was intermittent, so the serviceman said to wait until it was continuous. When I checked it out online and read your solution, my husband immediately stopped the machine, attached a rubber band to the tube, turned the machine back on and NO noise!! No more calls to the repairman. Thank you so much!

I was having the same problem as many others described here, with a GE Quietpower 2 making the low, growling, grumbling, vibration-type noise during the wash cycle. GOOD NEWS: I applied the plastic tie-wrap fix per Vish's comments (to secure the middle spayer tube hose to the bottom side of the top rack), and the noise has gone away. Having said that -- this is still not a very quiet dishwasher - - but you get what you pay for - - pretty skimpy on insulation...

Thanks for the assist Vish!

The Vish solution works. Click on this:

You need to secure the water tube that runs from the back of the dishwasher along the bottm rack. Secure it to the top rack both at the center and towards the back. Those plastic tie wraps work the best. Thanks Vish!!!!

Same loud intermittent growling/rumbling problem.

What's the fix?

I have a GE Dishwasher that was making a Knocking sound during wash cycles. 4 or 5 knocks, then nothing for 30 seconds or so... Then again. I tied the tube to the rack with twist-ties and the sound STOPPED! Thanks for the fix.. I will get my first good nights sleep in a week!!!
