What are the locations for the capacitors on the LN26A330 power supply circuit board? What capacitors go in what location.

All the capacitors will have location numbers printed on the bottom and top of the circuit board next to them like C18 etc--the values of each will be printed on each capacitor--as well as one side of each will have a strip with - which means it is the negative side of the cap and the other side will be the + or positive side--look for ones that are puffed up on top---see attached photo of a new and good cap--the silver top with the creases should be perfectly flat.

Any bad ones should be visible to the naked eye.

Let me know what you find---if you find puffed up ones they will be marked also with a value like 1000 mfd (microfarad) at 10 v (means the cap is rated at 10 volts.)

If you find bad ones it is a good idea to replace with a higher voltage rated cap of the same value--it may present a small problem as the higher the voltage rating is the bigger the part will be.

The reason (if you have puffed up ones) they fail is because too low a voltage rated cap was used when the set was made---saves the company who makes the sets a few cents on each part.

Let me know if you have questions of need advice.

note the gray band on the left side--negative lead (each has 2 leads) is indicated that way.

Re: Onkyo DV-CP500 DVD player stuck in standby mode (by 7 users)

Hi Yes, sorry just saw this comment. Swap out C7, C17 and C18 in the power supply. Also I would check if you are getting 9Volts to the motor control IC's pin 7 coming off of C005 on the Mechanism Board which is under the unit. The hole for the C005 cap was drilled into a very narrow section of the circuit board and has marginal connection at best.. mine stopped working because of this 6 months after I fixed the power supply.

Help - please explain

these are capacitors. The c18 and c36 are the location of the capacitors on the power supply board. The 2200uf is the capacitance of the capacitor and the 10v in the voltage the capacitor can handle. You should be able to purchase these at radio shack or most electronic supply stores. However to replace them you will need to know how to desolder the old caps and resolder in the new ones. I just got through repairing one of these units and to extend the life I used a higher voltage value cap. If you need anymore help or can't find the caps feel free to contact me

Akai LCT 2662 will not turn on

I'm surprise to see the repair shop telling you there nothing they can do.
The power supply can be fix if you take the time to troubleshoot it. However this is not a DIY project.
The failure is in the capacitors that are bulging out of the top or bottom. Quite visibly defective.

My display has not been working for years. Replaced c17 cap wich was 33uF 63 volts on lower pcb board( only one on system) . Old cap was good so this was not the problem. Replaced c16 wich was 100uF 25 volts with a 100uF 63volts. Display works, old cap read low. Both c17, and c16 are located on the lower left hand corner of the larger pcb looking from the front of the unit. Hope this helps.
