I have 2 laptops one is base for home, the 2nd is for work. Both worked fine picking up the wireless signal from the linksys wireless router, suddenly the work laptop won't pick up the signal, I was concerned while traveling for business I had messed up the settings, but nothing I try seems to work to get it to reacknowledge the router. HELP!

More information about your problem is needed. Restore settings to default, uninstall drivers for usb adapter, reinstall.

D-Link wireless router has been greta, until yesterday- the Roku boxes say my router strength is excellant, but all of a sudden, the box can no loger connect to the Internet even when I select my router-...

The router most likely is not synced properly with the modem. Your computer might still have a strong connection to the router, but isn't getting an IP address. Power everything down, including the modem and restart in this order:
1. Modem - allow a minute for it to run thru its diagnostics 2. Router 3. Computer
Once you've done this, if you're ISP isn't having outages, you should have the internet working again on your computer. If this doesn't work, call your provider.

Hello,

Connect the computer to the router via Ethernet. Navigate to acer's website and click on your country of residence. Navigate to drivers and downloads, then, click on notebook, netbook, or desktop. It will then follow the prompts to download and install your wireless driver. It should be labeled clearly. Unfortunately, I don't have an Acer, so can not direct you to an exact filename. If this isn't satisfactory, post it with a model number and type of computer and I'll get the direct link to you.

Wireless adapter has suddenly stopped working.

First unplug your adapter and boot your computer. It wouldn;t hurt to reboot it once as well. This should clear out any settings. When it has fully booted up only then insert the adapter into a different usb port. If it recognizes it and works it can indicate a usb problem.

If it finds it but doesn't connect a adapter problem. You can uninstall it and reinstall the drivers and it might work. If not replace. If it does nothing then its died on you and your adapter needs to be replaced.

Most adapters and home network units (wifi routers etc) only last for 1-2 years before they act up or die on you. Very annoying and can be expensive. I have a stack of wifi routers where the wifi isn;t reliable but the rest works. And a drawer full of various wifi adapter that are detected but not connected and a few just plain dead ones. All of them seem to fail at about the same time after purchase.

Dell Latitude c400 not connecting to anything!

security systems can interfere, but i dont think that is your problem. If you can see the signal and its not connecting, your access has possible dropped out. Some BB sites use 10.0.0.138 as an IP address so in the browser use http;//10.0.0.0.138 this should bring up a login tyepe admin admin user and PW then go to settings and disconnect. Then select reconnect type in your username and password and exit. wait 5 mins and you should be able to connect. If the IP does not work call your ISP and get the correct sequence.

PC works fine with Linksys USB card, but laptop's NetGear won't.

It looks like you are either using TKIP or AES just put the wireless to use MIXED and it will solve your problem.

Good Signal,Good Mbps, Slow Internet Connection?

1. Try to use a different wireless adapter on all available USB ports, if the problem remains then
2. turn off your PC unplug the power cord from the power socket, short the two legs of the power cable then leave it for 5min, then plug it into the power socket again and turn on the PC.

if this didnt work then you have a hardware problem with the USB ports.

let me know how it works out.
