First boot hangs on New installation of Fedora 10

I've done a fresh install of Fedora 10 and I got the Installation Successful screen. When I rebooted it draws a solid blue then white line across the bottom with Fedora 10 to the right. And thats it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Help installing linux

1. Download an ISO image corresponding to your Computer's Processor Architecture (i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit)
2. Using an Image Burner application like ImgBurn, burn the ISO image to a blank CD or DVD (depending on whether you chose to download a CD Image or a DVD Image)
3. Restart your computer with the newly burned CD/DVD Image of Fedora
4. Now select it during the Boot Up process as the medium to boot from (i.e. press "F9 key for Boot Menu")
5. Fedora will boot automatically in 10 seconds. Launch the "Install to Hard Disk" application after Fedora boots; then follow its prompts.
Done.

How can i install new window?

To Install the Fresh Copy of Windows,
On your laptop and on the first screen ( booting screen) press F10 and select the primary boot option to CD/DVD, meanwhile insert the Windows CD/DVD.
Now, "press any key to boot from cd appears". press any key and you will get led to windows installation process.
Format the partition you want the copy of Windows to be installed.
Now select the drive you want the copy of Windows to be installed and click Next.
Now, you can proceed by the instruction on the screen.
The PC might reboot many times, be patient and meanwhile it will ask for product key and registration, enter all the information required.
Once done, your computer will installed with a Fresh Copy of Windows.

After boot I get only a flashing dash onscreen. it was a formatted hard drive with a new install of WinXp SP4.The installation was a success(?) but after reboot I got nothing.

If the installation was successful, then you mist likely have a compatibilty issue with your Video driver: try rebooting in Safe Mode and validate your Video settings.
If you cannot reboot in Safe Mode (eg. hit F8 during initial boot sequence), then it is not just a Video Compatibilty issue!

How can i install red hat linux on my hp laptop

Actually, Red Hat Linux is now only an Enterprise Level Operating system. Fedora on the other hand is sponsored by Red Hat and is much better suited for a personal computer. Just head over to fedoraproject.org and download the Fedora 10 ISO. Then burn it to a CD and reboot your computer. It should boot automatically into Fedora.

Hope that helped!!

Having problem while installing fedora

Sounds like Fedora has attempted to start up in GUI mode. However, your monitor/video doesn't support the resolution it's trying to use. Try this: Start up fedora in single user mode. See this link for instructions on how to do it. http://www.fedorafaq.org/basics/ It is option 4 on that site. Once you're in single user mode, you can edit the /etc/inittab file to go to runlevel 3, and reboot. this will start up the computer without a gui, and from there you can easily configure the video card and video settings for X windows.
Let me know if I can clarify anything.
