Hi, y have a GC820 that is not working, when i hold the play button it shows diferent colors on the display, but nothing else, i tried to update the firmware, but when i run the Media Player Upgrade Tool, don't recognize any firmware installed on the device, an when i choose "Select new firmware file" it asks for e firmware image file (*.fw, *.bin, *.fwu) and i dont know where i can download that file, i tried from the original site http://www.elementelectronics.com/ but i can't find nothing. I don't know what to do, please HELP ME.
The firmware does not need to be updated. After a mode is selected by moving the mode slider switch left or right then depress that same mode slider switch like a button. When the mode switch is used to change a mode but one does not press it in to select it, that is when the play button changes colors.

Do a power drain, this may cause by an electrical charge in the motherboard itself,Im Not really sure how it affects the display of the computer but this method usually fix such problem like that, First, removed the battery then unplugged the AC adapter the press and hold the power button or the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds then connect the power supply back to your computer then turn it back on, if nothing happens, there is a possibility that the problem is with the LCD or monitor itself, maybe it will need a replacement...
Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
From the manual: Press STANDBY/ON to put the system in standby, then press and hold the front panel (stop) button for about 8 seconds until the display shows Mem.clr?.
