My LG bottom freezer, french door evaporator fan ices up andmakes a loud buzzing sound. I have to unload the freezer and defrost with a heat gun. Lots of frost around the fan.

jeepers are we talking about a wheeze, a clunk, a whirr, a buzz, a rattle, a hum, random modulated or cyclic, low or high frequency, persistent or intermittent? Or could you just be hearing fan noise.
If it sounds like tin pieces clinking against something metallic. The fan blades may be striking ice or frost or the shroud.
Could be a bad or worn fan motor bearing, or a defrost problem causing frost build up.
Just a FYI
Some LG models have been reported online as having many many operating issues.

When the door is left open alot of condensation forms in your fridge which freezes and ices up. This build-up will gather around your evaporator fan which sometimes stops it from working or sometimes the fan blades scrape on the ice built up.

Best to manually defrost your freezer. Empty your freezer. Turn fridge off. Put a pot of boiling water and close the door. Leave for some time to defrost the ice. You can repeat this a couple of times to defrost the ice. Otherwise you can use a blow-dryer as well.

When you defrost, and turn your fridge back on. Everything should go back to normal.

check your evaporator fan maybe the fan blade hitting edges or the shaft or bushing has damage cause of buzzing sounds apply lubrication or replace bushing but before you dismantle try to off the unit.

Defective compressor, refrigerant low from a leak in the system, dirty condenser coils, condenser fan not working, bad compressor relay or capacitor, main thermostat control not working, thermostat needs to be set at proper setting, frozen evaporator coils do to faulty defrost timer, defrost heater coil broken, or the defrost determination thermostat has stayed in the open position, which would result in no defrost and the ice blockage would stop air the circulation, defective evaporator fan, defective door switch which controls the evaporator fan when one opens and closes the freezer door. Freezer drain clogged which would possibly cause the fan to be stuck because of ice built up around it.

Check resistance on bi metal thermostat/heating element.Make sure continuity is present on thermostat before defrosting.Advance derost timer if analog unit.

FAN NOT WORKING

Hi, The defrost drain is plugged. UNPLUG the refrigerator. Remove the rear inside panel in the freezer section and locates the drain hole below the evaporator coils. You will have to melt the ice in the drain hole and flush it out with hot water.

The model number you post appears to be incorrect.
The buzzing was from the evaporator fan blade hitting on some ice build up. Getting to it on a bottom freezer refrig is a bit of a pain in the back side. If your model has a pull out freezer drawer, that has to be removed, the icemaker removed, one side of the drawer supports from the freezer wall, all to allow you to remove the back wall of the freezer to get to the fan. You may be able to just thaw out the fan and surrounding area then which will get your refrig cooling again, if the ice was just around the fan area. On the pain in the but repair scale of 1 - 10, this one rates at least a 7.

Possibly the defrost element is faulty, this is located behind a cover in the back of the freezer compartment and is attached to the fins of the evaporator. It also has a defrost limit thermostat which could also be the problem. I presume that the fan is working after you have defrosted the unit?
