Psp hangs on psp logo under game mode

Psp slim installed 4.01 m33-2 using DCv7, but when trying to play any homebrew or iso's the system hangs on the PSP logo screen. I have to take out the battery to shut the unit off. Another symptom is that when I go into Recovery mode, everything works except when I select Exit at the end, it just hangs saying "exiting recovery". I tried the same homebrews with the same Memory Stick in another PSP and they load fine.

Similar problem. PSP hang when exiting from recovery mode. However, tried a few times then managed to exit from recovery mode and able to play the games again.

have you set your homebrew xmb to custom or sonyiso in the recovery menu? Set it all to default and reinstall with the lastest homebrew of 5.XX

I have psp slim (PSP 2000) with 5.03 GEN C (Full), i cant play with the new downloaded games,,,...what's the latest cfw i can upgrade my psp, so i can play the new games i have,,,<>?? thank...

Hey there.
Before updating to 5.50 Gen-D3 (which is a higher version than yours), try knowing your PSP MoBo first. Why? Because, you may brick your PSP with the upgrade. Use PSPident to do that. Here's a link for that (MONSTER here!!!). Don't mind the monster, I just thought it's kinda nice doin' that. LOL
Now, do that PSPident in your PSP. If your MoBo appear to be TA088v3, DO NOT (never ever) upgrade to 5.50 Gen-D3 or you will have your PSP dead... If your MoBo is LOWER than TA088v3 (like, say, TA085v1 or v2) then go on with the 5.50 Gen-D3.
If upgrading doesn't solve your problem with playing homebrew, you may have downloaded a corrupted ISO or CSO file... Find a new torrent for that game again...
Happy playing...

I upgrade my psp slim to 6.31 but cannot use my hombrew

I think upgrading to higher versions will disable you from playing homebrew. Try CFW that is 6.20 or upgrade it to 6.35... Be careful though, installing CFW to your PSP (especially it's slim which has the chance to have a TA088v3 MoBo) may result to PSP bricking.
Try to search the web as many as possible to make sure you're doing the right thing. I cannot give you the answer here because playing homebrew in PSP is quite vast and if I were you, I'll browse a lot before touching my PSP again... Here's what you need to know;
1. Your PSP Slim MoBo (Motherboard) - make sure that it's not TA088v3. To know your MoBo version, download and install PSPIdent in your PSP and run it. It will create an image file detailing what is your PSP MoBo version.
2. Being ready for Pandora and Magic Memory stick in case you brick your PSP (which works only to those with non TA088v3 boards).
3. Files you are downloading. Installing CFW to play homebrew is tricky. You need to download the correct file which is ultimately relative to each other in order to do it right.
Now, you may consider browsing PSPmod and everythign Dark Alex is doing to get a worthy solution to your problem...
Good luck...

How to download psp iso games for free?

Hello

Since the PlayStation Portable's firmware is susceptible to modification, the Homebrew community has been able to create PSP ISO files that enable you to play video games for the PSP without needing the UMD hard copy. Full PSP ISO files can be downloaded from websites such as PSPiso.com, MegaUpload.com, Torrentspy.com by using various shareware and torrent software. Be warned that downloading games you do not own is considered illegal.

How can i put hole games on psp for free with no custum firewire

This is not possible for free, for a low charge you can get alot games from playstation network.

The original Sony firmware also won't run homebrew software, it will only run the games bought from Playstation Network and original UMD's

If you want to play backuped game and homebrew, you still have to flash custom firmware on your psp.

Iso/cso won't run to PSP version 4.20

You cannot play .iso or .cso files (or any homebrew games) on your PSP unless you have firmware 1.5 or a custom firmware. Any "off-the-shelf" firmware such as 4.2 will not support these types of files. They will just show up as "Corrupted Data".

You can go through the process of downgrading your firmware from 4.2 to 1.5, then from 1.5 you may upgrade to a custom firmware such as 5.00 m33-4. Doing so would require a good deal of technical know-how and a LOT of patience. If you do not want to risk ruining your PSP, do NOT try this. Research methods of downgrading such as "Pandora's Battery" and other firmware downgraders.

You were able to download games from the PSP website because they are programmed to play on the current firmware. Even if you were to (somehow) properly convert the .iso or .cso files to an EBOOT.PBP file, it would not run unless you have firmware 1.5 or custom.
