Question about Computers & Internet
Memory error, bad cd, or cd drive. can also be bad ram on vid card. tricky problem as it can be many things, but they are all easily fixed if you have some old parts around. if you have more than one ram chip, take one out and try it and then if it still happens try the other one, alone. if it still does it than its not ram, so switch out the cd drive or try a different drive if you have more than one installed. if you have another compter, also make another copy of your osys cd and try it.
last but not least, if you have an old vid card you can use, take out the one you have, if its built in, dont worry it will automatically use the plug in. and try it.
I guarantee you its one of these.
make sure your computer meets the specs for vista of course i would assume it does....it it does, than its one of these problems.
i have a copy of xp and a copy of vista that both give crazy mem errors on install, and use others in same pc and they work fine...
