Ok. Windows Media player is really limited on playing different formats. It is more a music store (like iTunes) than a media player. You can try an OpenSource media player named MPlayer. It plays almost ALL media format on the universe and beyond. (A bit exaggeration here). The best part is FREE.You can download MPlayer from here.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Dvd medie player

It seems you don't have any codecs... The problem is not in windows media player.
Just install a codec pack like http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec_pack_all_in_1.htm

Hope to solve your problem.

I downloaded windows media 11 but wont play dvds says missing dvd decoder what can I do?

i guess that's due to a missing codec.Get klite codec pack free online.Just run it once you download it and it gives you codecs for just about every possible media type.but i will highly recommend you download VLC player and/or classic media player, (good news is these are both free and often play almost every other stuff that windows can't)this should definitely do it.vote my solution.thanks!

Hello my system in problem

try to resolve this with a restart first before you go deeper. restart your computer and make sure there are no programs running but windows media player only.

if same problem occurs, it may be a codec problem. you might be missing a codec. download the Gspot program here. It will help you detect which codec is missing. once you know which one, then download the codec by searching through the internet.

can also be compatibility issue with other software/programs such as nero, divx, xvid, voxware, roxio and the like. if you have any of these, try uninstalling and see if windows media player will work.
