I am having the same problem. Did you figure this out? I assume you have the bar across the top and by removing the little brass bar, you then have three valves there covered by drain plugs. I can't get the drain plugs out to clean or replace the valves. I am about to just drill them out and order new ones ($6 a piece). Please help if there is a better answer.

the brass bar other chap talking about is not unloader valves.these are pressure valves and when grit sticks these open your pressure spray is erratic(shuddering & low).as you look at front of pump (brass plate)unloader is at top left unscrew brass nut unless it has manual adjuster use spanner unloader is in there.

Hello there.

If the washer is loosing pressure then it needs to be looked at under warranty, im not sure where the fault would be, but another expert may well know.

If you don't get any suggestions then i would take it back and ask for a replacement or repair.

Hope this helps.

Where the pressure release valve on 2500 psi gas model

A pressure release valve on a pressure washer is called an unloader.. It is on most machines a removable part. It allows the pressure that is created when the trigger of the wand is released to be re circulated inside the pump manifold assembly. They are pre adjusted at the factory and I do not recommend screwing around with the adjustment because if it is tampered with it can cause the unit to stall or blow out your water seals. Yes the unloader on most models be replaced, but you have to order specific to the model you have to ensure you have the correct one.

What is a bypass unloader

According to
"The unloader valve diverts water flow into bypass when the trigger gun valve is closed. Unloaders may be designed to respond to either an increase in pressure or a change in flow. The unloader valve may also be used for variable pressure adjustment."

My compressor builds to 125 psi then shuts off like it should then when the pressure is released the compressor wont start back up. Sometimes it will attempt to start and it sounds like the motor is...

When a compressor reaches set pressure, there should be a release of air from discharge hose thru the unloader. This release of air unloads the compressor head pressure. The unloader is usually located within the pressure switch. Easy to check. Follow discharge hose from compressor head to tank. There should be a brass/steel checkvalve at the tank. The checkvalve allows air to enter tank, however not allow air to be released back into discharge hose. If this valve is leaking, air will be released from the unloader constantly. Follow 1/4" tubing from checkvalve to unloader and listen for leaks. Repair as needed. If air is not leaking from checkvalve then check unloader mechanism with-in pressure switch. Parts are available at Good luck

Not sprayer engine stop

This is an indication that the unloader not working properly. When you release the trigger the unloader senses the increase in pressure and bypasses the water into the water inlet. When the unloader is not working and you release the trigger, the water pressure builds quickly and overcomes the power of the engine shutting it down. Here is the manual for your machine,

and some information about troubleshooting from the manual.
"Not Unloading. Leak in Gunvalve or Hose. Repair gun leak . Replace leaking or broken hoses. Debris or wear in Check Valve. Remove Check Valve parts and clean. Check O-Ring. Reface with emery cloth, or replace checkvalve. Damaged Piston U-Cup. Rebuild Unloader Valve (Service Center)."
Usually when the unloader fails the pressure regulator will most likely need to be replaced as the unloader is usually incorporated within. For now try lowering the pressure some and just tie the trigger open untill you can service. Good luck.

NO PRessure

Hi It sounds to me like your unloader valve is stuck, this is the thing that is meant to move up and down when pressing the trigger. Please remove the unloader valve assembly and check for damage. If no damage is found then grease and lubricate this part and replace and this should work ok again.

Unloader valve releases a lot of air when compressor shuts off and will not let the motor kick in blows breaker

This is usually a problem with the check valve. The unloader valve on your pressure switch is designed to bleed the pressure off the head of the compressor. With a leaking check valve the pressure isn't relieved from the head and the pump can't turn causing the motor to overload and blow the breakers.

To troubleshoot your problem try the following:

Trace the 1/4" line that connects to the unloader back to the tank. You'll find a fitting there. Remove the lines and then the fitting. Sometimes cleaning that valve will alleviate the problem. If not you need to replace the check valve.

Hope that helps.

Engine will not start when the water is on. You can start the engine and then turn the water on but it will kill the engine. I have tried to clean the unloader valve.

To isolate whether or not the unloader valve is still stuck or sticking, try starting the unit with the wan trigger engaged water coming out to spray. If the unit runs while wan trigger is engaged and shut down when released your unloader valve isn't working. Hope this helps God Bless

How do i release the pressure when the unloader valve is stuck

Start by removing the garden hose. Now you must CAREFULLY unscrew the high pressure hose and it may be necessary to use vice grips.DO NOT attempt to disassemble any of the pump when it is in high pressure.
