I have just found out from another site that this camera does NOT have sound!!!! I had to read tonnes of reviews on this camera before I found one that actually said the video does not have sound. How weird is that! And why do they not tell you up front...........very bad. Trade description comes to mind............ I think a lot of people will be very annoyed like me - I bought it for a present for someone.

Go into your menu and check your settings. I had this happen once cause the "internal" volume was turned all the way down.

How to increase the volume?

use VLC media player to play videos. It supports almost all format and plays videos smoothly. It can increase your sound to upto 400% . but be careful. Use full volume only when the sound is less or the speaker may get damaged.

Hi i have rexently noticed that my phone no longer sends sound to the ear phone jack with the exception of voice calls i have switched the phone off and on but no change. What should i try next thanks

There is different sound setting for voice call and media playback.
If you press volume up key on home screen, it increase the phone call volume but not he music player volume.

You can try to increase sound of media playback. First, open music player or video player and increase the volume through volume up key. You will see media volume written on the Volume increase pop up notification.
If you still have problem, reply.

AT STARTUP,ONE CHANNAL BREAKS UP.IT SOUNDS LIKE WHAT YOU WOULD HEAR ON A RADIO RECEIVER. THIS PROBLEM IS ON ALL INPUTS,IN SPEAKERS AND ON HEADPHONES. IF YOU INCREASE THE VOLUME THE PROBLEM WILL IMPROVE. IF...

It sounds more to me like one transistor in an AB output pair has slowly failed.
If you have an oscilloscope, look to see if the top or bottom of the waveform is squared off.
If not, just test the output transistors.

Without knowing more about the make/model of the unit that's the best advice I can give you at the moment.

When someone call the phone the volume is low

the roller key on the side will adust the volume, i am sure you have tried this with no avail, however there is a little bit more to know. If you press and hold it until it shows the volume 'chart' then you can roll up and down this will adjust volume as well but on the other 'realm' sometime these phones are programmed backwards. The scenario i gave you should increase the volume of purhaps music or videos, and just using the roller it should increase call volume.
Now if neither of these methods work then i would suggest taking compressed air to the speaker, if metal filings gathered in there it will muffle the sound considerably
