Drain plug is not necessary. Remove the dipstick and tip the mower to the side the dipstick is on and use the dipstick tube as a drain.

Drain oil from mower until proper level. Remove spark plug and pull starter rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray starter fluid in cylinder pull rope several times to clean out. Replace fouled plug with new spark plug. Remove air cleaner, ensure no oil present, replace filter as needed. Clean air filter box with carb cleaner. Install new air filter reattach filter cover. Prime engine, pull starter rope 1/2 way 4 times to help prime, then pull starter rope fully up to 10 times to start.

Where is drain plug for oil on Troy bilt Tb230

It does not have a drain plug. You can remove the dip stick and tilt the mower to pour out the oil, or you can use one of those hand pump syphon units to pump it out.

Looking at a Troy Built with a Honda engine. Is E85 (ethynol) gasoline a problem with the Honda engine?

85% ethanol is a problem for ANY lawn mower engine!

There isnt a single piece of lawn equipment made to run on any amount of alcohol. Let alone run on something with 85% ethanol in it!

You should drain the tank and carb and put in clean, fresh, non-oxygenated alcohol-free fuel.

Ethanol and methanol ruin a lot of the materials that lawn mowers are made out of. So you might be stuck doing a carb replacement along with changing out all the fuel lines and related items.

How to change the oil in my troy built pont where is the drain plug

Not sure what a pont is, or what motor you have, but on some of the Troy built small engines from Honda the geniuses designed the motor with no drain plug. You have to tilt or flip the engine over to drain oil out the filler

Can't find owners manual for troy built 21''. How do I drain oil from engine.

Not knowing what model number mower you have, there are a couple of possibilities for draining the oil.

Number one: You can tilt the mower back on the handle bar and look at the bottom side of the engine for a drain plug that is easily accessible and unobstructed so that the oil would drain straight into a container with the mower elevated on something high enough to get the container under it. Loosen the plug then put it up on the blocks, saw horses or whatever you are using, get your catch container under it and remove the plug.

Number Two: Start the engine and warm it up for a few minutes to make the oil flow easier. Set it up on a work bench with the oil dipstick tube toward the outer edge of the bench. Line up a catch container on the floor below it and tip the mower over on its side and pour the oil out the dipstick tube into the container. Just use caution not to touch any hot parts of the engine when lifting it up. This is the way Briggs & Stratton recommends changing the oil in their engines which do no have an accessible drain plug.

Can't find the oil drain plug on Troy Bilt with 5.5 Honda engine

You may want to look under the deck. They sometimes put them there. And if it is a self propelled, you will probably need to remove or loosen the plastic cover that protects the self propelled belt.

You are looking for a nickel sized plug that has a square peg. Use an extension piece for a socket set if you don't have the proper plug removal tool.

I have a troybuilt push lawnmower with a honda motor, I was wondering where the oil plug was where I can drain the oil.

It is under the mower, you will need a 3/8 ratchet and extension to take it out...make sure NOT to tip the mower over, you will have to raise it, but make sure the spark plug end stays up!!!

Oil drain plug

may be under the blade plate under the mower, usually a plug with a quarter inch square drive, you can use a ratchet to loosen it if it is quarter drive, maybe a half inch drive
