    Understanding MP3 File Manager

The MP3 File Manager interface contains three main areas:

    • Main View Area - displays and manages audio files and albums.

    • Control Area - contains control buttons for content and application management.

    • Memory Display Area - indicates available and used memory on your Portable Audio Player.

Transferring audio files from a computer to your Portable Audio Player

You can transfer either individual MP3 files or folders containing MP3 files from a computer to

your Portable Audio Player. To transfer MP3 files, follow the process below:

    1. Connect your Portable Audio Player to the computer and launch MP3 File Manager. For instructions on how to launch MP3 File Manager, refer to the Getting Started with MP3 File Manager section.

    2. Locate the MP3 file(s) or folder(s) you wish to transfer to your player.

    3. Drag the selected MP3 file(s) or folder(s) and drop them in the MP3 File Manager Main View Area.

    4. An MP3 File Manager prompt will indicate that the application is preparing for the transfer. During this time, the MP3 File Manager application identifies which of the selected MP3 file(s) or folder(s) are valid for transfer, and estimates the available space on your Portable Audio Player.

    5. The transfer will automatically begin after the preparation process is completed. The transfer status window will indicate the track number, name and percentage of the current track being transferred, and the total number of tracks of the current album. If you wish to abort the transfer process, click the Cancel button.

    6. After the transfer process is complete, the transferred MP3 files can be played on your Portable Audio Player.

The audio tracks on your Portable Audio Player are arranged by albums. When transferring individual tracks to an empty Portable Audio Player, a new album is created by default. If there are already albums in the Main View Area, tracks are added to the album at the very bottom. If you wish to add tracks to a specific album, drag and drop the selected tracks to an existing album. Albums cannot be created within the MP3 File Manager window and need to be created on your PC before transferring to your Portable Audio Player.

Important Note: In order to allow playback of MP3 files on your Portable Audio Player, you need to use the MP3 File Manager to transfer the audio tracks. MP3 files copied without using MP3 File Manager will not play back on your Portable Audio Player. Also, once transferred to your Portable Audio Player, you cannot transfer the audio track(s) back to a computer.

Organizing tracks or albums on your Portable Audio Player

To organize tracks or albums on your Portable Audio Player, follow the steps below:

    1. Connect your Portable Audio Player to the computer and launch MP3 File Manager. For instructions on launching MP3 File Manager, refer to the Getting Started with MP3 File Manager section.

    2. In the Main View Area of MP3 File Manager, select desired tracks or albums. Use "Ctrl" or "Shift" key to select multiple tracks or albums. You cannot select both tracks and albums at the same time.

    3. Drag and drop your selection to the desired location in the Main View Area.

    4. The tracks or albums will now appear in the new location.

Help

you might have copied the shortcuts alone instead of copying the whole music files into the player.for e.g if you have gone through the following sequence
start>recent items>right click on the file>removable disc then only the shortcuts alone would have been pasted in your player.please go to the folder containing music files and the copy them to send it to the player.
else the best way is to synchronize the player with the computer using music software like real player or windows media player etc.you can learn about this in the help (press f1) in the software to know more about it.
P.S: please format you player before doing the above actions.thanks

Nw-e103 wont work

Hi the problem your having is going to be that the data you put onto the device is the wrong format if all your music is in one file on your computer then what you can do is using a search engine type in change format or convert format you will find their is loads of programmes on the net that will do this and most dont charge so find a free one and then change the format of your files from whatever they are and convert them to mp3 files then download tham onto your mp3 player you should then have no problems.
You will need to format the mp3 before putting anything else onto it let me know if you need further assistance ok

Many times, MP3 players will play music from an "Audio" folder. Try naming the folder "Audio".

Shuffle???? where is it?

Here is the link to the user guide if you need it; http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=NWE103 page 18 explains how to access the repeat menu and the options available - yes you should have a shuffle feature, if you can't access it using this procedure then there would seem to be something wrong with the player - please post again if you have no luck Hope this helps :)
