1. Go to http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/driversdownloads/drivers_list.aspx?categoryid=12
2. Under driver name click on "Audio(2)"
3. The second driver "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" version is V5.10.0.5502, on the right of the page click download.
4. Agree to the terms
5. Once done downloading double click or click on the IN1AUD23WW1.exe to install.
6. Follow the on screen instructions to finish install.

Go to your sound card manufacturers website and download the driver for windows XP OS. Install the driver and see if that helps.

i have sound device in my laptop powered by windows xp but it does not working properly i dont have a clear idea

first of all intall the bus driver and after that install audio driver n enjoy.

You must have wrong sound driver
download PCwizard and install this program will check motherboard for all your driver and list them sound driver will probably be in differnet section than main drivers note name and number of driver
EG cmedia 23415 write down and search for them on the net
cmediia 23415 drivers when found download correct drivers for your O/S.
to uninstall old driver first
go to start/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/
right click on all sound drivers go to properties and uninstall driver reboot you must do this before installing new driver

Actually, Windows XP detects drivers on its own.
