You will probably do more damge to the sensor if you try cleaning it yourself. I would return it to a professional camera store and have them do it. The sensor is very delicate and should not be messed with unless you knoiw what you're doing. Who pays for it, I have no idea. It's usually caused by dust when you remove the lens. That's a user problem, not a camera problem.

My LG 42LV4400 has a red light in the bottom left corner but it will not turn on.

hello!
2 month and already quit? OK: first thing to do is to unplug TV off the power strip or wall outlet. Wait for a few minutes and plug the set back into the power source. Try to turn on the set manually, by touching sensors or buttons on control panel. some TVs have push buttons, some touch sensors. If your TV was set to "auto power on" mode, then don't touch anything after plugging set in. That's the only action you can do to "revive" the set. If you will be able to turn set on manually and "free standing" without any external connections, except power cord, check your remote control unit. 95% of consumers turn on their sets via "clickers". In case of complete failure, you might have month or 10 month left of factory warranty, depend on price you paid. Use it a.s.a.p! If needed. There is no magic button to heal broken circuitry.
Good luck,
Alex.

Canon SD1400. Worked perfectly for 2 months then one day I turned it on and there is a black line that appears on the screen. It's not a scratch on the screen, it is as if there is a piece of string or...

This could be a failure of the image sensor itself. You'll need to get the camera serviced, hopefully it is under warranty. Canon has had some image sensor defects in recent history, so this may be covered.

Your CCD sensor is going bad, I assume this is an a-75 or one of the many others that have a bad Sony part. They will warranty this issue for free even if you didn't buy it new. You must contact Canon in Japan.

Hello, My Olympus u700 Camera displays an error code "D: 5e02, 5f08". What do I do? Please help! Thank you. Regards.

The problem you are describing is a problem with the sensor in the lens assembly. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $86 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

It's probably a speck of dust on the image sensor behind the shutter. If you can't find the cleaning mode in the Menu, set the camera to the M setting and rotate the dial to Bulb. Press and hold the button while you blow the sensor ( blue/green glass ) - BE SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE SENSOR and don't let the shutter close while you're blowing the sensor.

If you're not comfortable doing it, most camera repair shops will do it while you wait.

I looked though the message board for people with the same camera. Seems there is a consistent problem with the model of cameral that I have.
The response was overwhelming enough to help me make the decision to dispose of the camera.
