Hi,
Sorry to be blunt, but this is important information below here.
You MUST be earthed, or the system is HISTORY.
Please take not of this important procedure.

E.S.D. kit needed for this job, ( strap and matting ) $20 dollars.

http://www.rapidonline.com/Tools-Fasteners-Production-Equipment/Service-Aids/Antistatic-Products/ESD-field-service-kit/72665/kw/87-1476?source=googleps&utm_source=googleps

remove the battery firstly.

on the vaio, you have to be careful, they have sides on them,

about 16/18 tiny screws from the back, sides pop off,
( be gentle with the sides, I cracked one of mine ) on my vaio.
and I have stripped and re-built a few systems.

front panel comes off then, then the keyboard can be removed
( keyboard connected to system inside ) care needed here too.

once your opened up, there are cages that hold everything down,
undo the hard drive cage, couple of screws, remove the data cable,
remove the drive,

Now work backwards from here.

Take photos of what you are doing as you go, best thing to do.
camera phones are good for this,

Lay all parts and screws for parts in a line, methodically.
( then work through the line to replace them )
you cannot go wrong doing this, this way )

Take your time, you have got hours and hours to do the job,
But you can render something useless in 1 second flat.

So super super care and attention to detail needed for this job to be successful.

Have fun, good luck

Regards
Richard.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

This is the link to the disassemble manual for your laptop. When you bring the link up, make sure to make a copy for yourself, it is free and in PDF format, do you need either adobe acrobat or foxit reader to open the file. scroll down the header on the left to HDD, that is the hard drive area. Good luck, ParrotHead PC Repair
