Tried to do a firmware update on this bd player but it gave me an
error, but now I can't get the disc out the tray.. everytime I've
pressed the eject button it comes up with 'please wait' on the screen.
I've tried turning the machine off and on again.. same result. Anyone
had this problem before or know how i can fix it?
-   I had the same problem but instead of a blue ray disk inside the player is the upgrade dvd and i took it to the service and they told me that it cost's more to fix it then to buy a new one ! τhey say that the warranty doesn 't cover such case.

1) Hit power button for 5 -10 sec unitl unit shuts off
2) Press open / close button unit or remote first (do not hit power button first)
3) On the third try, the disc tray opened
I had James Bond Goldfinger in the player ( not sure if this had anything to do with it), I put another Blu Ray in and it loaded fine and is playing fine, hope this works for you

When i connect my pioneer bdp-51fd blu-ray player to my sony a.v. receiver using the multi channel analogue outputs i get no bass from my sub-woofer. Even changing the settings in my receiver to boost the sub levels makes no difference, the sub works fine with all the other components in my system.
