I had the exact same problem. When the service tech came to look, my husband watched him. There was a disconnected wire to the motherboard which my husband asked can't the tech just reconnect it. The tech stated no, we needed a new motherboard. My husband reconnected the wire using tape for now & the dishwasher is working perfect. My husband is going to get somekind of calk/glue that will work permanently. This should save us from replacing the motherboard for a while. The dishwasher is only about 5 years old! My previous dishwasher was over 20 years old with no repair problems the over 10 years that I owned & used it.

I am looking for the self check test, does anyone know where I can find the instructions how to do it myself? Thank you

If it is a wire disconnected to the motherboard all you need to do is solder it back on. You need a solder GUN, not a solder stick. Use solder with resin already in it.

Only do this if you are good with a soldering gun, as if you get too much solder on you will destroy your motherboard.

After filling with water, my Maytag jetclean EQ plus just makes a clicking noise. After a few minutes of the clicking noise, the lightwash and clean button are flashing red. I need help? We have not had the dishwasher that long. I thought Maytags last for many many years. A busy Mom of three.
