Question about Televison & Video

4 Answers

I have a Daewoo HDD/DVD recorder DHR-8414 which has worked fine for the 5 months I have had it, but now I cannot copy movies from my HDD onto disks. It takes the normal time with "COPY" showing on the screen, but when I try to look at the disk to finalise it - there is stuff on the disk - but I can't see what it is and it cannot play the disk

The item I am trying to copy onto disk came off the TV, it is not copy-protected. I have managed to copy it onto a disk before this.

Thanks - I will see if that works and will get back to you. It might take me a day or two.

    Hi Ginko

I did clean the lens, but it didn't sort the problem. I have had to send it away to be fixed by someone clever than me.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

It doesnt seem to be issue with the laser lens head as it is playing fine. the reading and writing head are the same.
In my opinion the firmware has gone corrupted and need to be reloaded back. Before replacing any part ask the repair guy to update the firm ware.
that should fix the issue ..
Let me know
Thanks
K

That means that the lens is starting to be dirty or opaque.

Start using a cleaning DVD product, and try blowing canned air on top of the lens if you can reach the lens.

If that does not work, then the unit must be disassembled to clean or replace the lens.

you cant record directly onto the disk, it records onto the harddrive. Click ''menu'' on the remote and the HDD videos and select a video/s the click dubbing, only works with DVDRW. To transfer it to your computer you need a dvd ripper

I would like to know if it is possible to copy two vhs movies onto one dvd disk.

Yes, this should be possible, as long as the VHS movies are not copyright protected. Just make sure that the recording mode on the dvd is set to allow enough time for both movies. Just remember: the more you record onto a single disc, the quality of the dubbing (recording of VHS to DVD) is decreased.

I lost the manual and don't know how to finalize after dubbing

Go to the website http://www.funai-corp.com/6pdf/om/ZV450MW8.pdf and you can download it free. If you can access the setup menu, it is on there.

Dvd+r disks are the least compatible to most devices.

Try using Dvd-r instead.

Errors burning to 1x to 16x DVD-R

I have had much luck recording on off brand 16X discs as follows:

1) Record a "dummy" program on the hard drive, need only about 15 or 20 seconds.

2) Put a blank disk in drive, and COPY that dummy program to disk. Do not finalize.

3) After a minute or so, window will come up and say "Cannot
complete copy."

4) Now while above window on screen, click HOME MENU, COPY, New program list, Select your movie/program to copy, go ahead and finalize, and START.

5) Think you'll find this is successful, however there might be some brands of blank disks that won't work.

6)Let me know if it works for ya. JGIDUSKO@CFL.RR.COM
