Re: laptop to tv
Perhaps you have to activate the S-Video output of your laptop. In most laptop models, this is done with the use of the Fn key + some other function key like F5 or F6 or whatever it is being used by your specific laptop model. You can also check if this feature in enabled in your Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor or amongst the other tabs/choices.
At other times, you may need to change your laptop's screen resolution to match the HDTV's capability/capacity.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.

We have a Samsung tv and our signal comes through ADSL via a router to the tv and the laptops in the home. It happens that the tv does not want to start. The remedies I use for that is what I have learned from my service providers. Start by disconnecting the tv,router from the electrisitity for a couple of minutes then try again, if the picture of the young lady appears on the screen and tells you to click on the remote for the picture to appear. If that does not work I disconnect all cables from electricity and turn the router off. Connect all cables again and find your station.
If nothing happens now than I start being irritated, and push the"source" button on the remote and reassure me that all cables are soundly in their place, he scart-plugs and all other plugs as well. And almost every time after this treatment the tv starts. It takes a lot of patience and thinking, but most often it works. (((-:
Hi, Your set top box (PVR) is running on channel 3 or 4. Go to menu and sellect a source TV, DVD
Note: Do not connect more than 1 set of cables to tv or you may damage something.
TV > box connect RCA cable or HDMI not both.
Set top box > connect RCA or HDMI Not both.
audio devices > TV connect RCA or HDMI not both.
Yellow is normally Video, connect that one to Vidio In 1 and I would guess the black would be Audio if the camera supports audio, then that on would go into the same row as the Vidio except into the Red or White. Try that and let my know.
I work in an electronics store and I've come across this problem before. The only solution that has ever worked for the people who call in or come to see us is pretty simple. You need to unplug your PC from the TV (if you haven't already done so), turn the TV on by using the "channel +" button. Some TV's when turned off at the wall will not turn back on again unless you press the channel + button. Give it a go and see what happens. Let me know if you need more help.
Also, it sounds like your laptop may not have been supported due to the wrong resolution being outputted through your VGA connection. When you get your TV turned on again I'll see if I can help you get them to work together,
