Hi there,
well, stuck up hand wheel, is due to mechanical obstruction inside machine, bushing on shafting need to oil,and on handwheel bushing near clutch there is oil port there. since hand wheel are connected to cam shaft with set of gears and pulley is coupled to motor pulley, and other linkage under bobbins, shuttle race etc, broken gears are most common causes of stuck up handwheel,we can consider also the brush carbon, when worn out and damage the rotor commutator brush.if you can open the cover of motor below side of handwheel, you can see the pulley and motor assembly.also on top of machine there an opening to see the top gear assembly, this should be done by service technician.try to bring to nearest service center if still under warranty claim this for lesser maintenance cost.have a nice day, don't forget to rate me.thank's.

I just took my Singer Simple 3116 apart because the hand wheel was stuck. I could turn it clockwise and it was fine, but if I tried to turn it counter clockwise, it would jam up and not sew. I figured what the heck, for what it would cost me to have it repaired, I could almost buy a new one. Now I must say though, I am very mechanically inclined. after close inspection, I noticed a bar that hangs down by the hand wheel on the inside. When the bobbin winder is engaged this bar stops the needle from going up and down. Disengaged it should let the motor freely turn all gears and such so that you can sew. this bar or rod was not disengaging on my machine. After fiddling with it for a minute, I was able to get everything working perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Needle shaft stuck. Machine won't work.

It's possible that you have threads wound somewhere inside the machine. Likely places are the tension unit and near the hand wheel.

if these suggestion don't help then the machine needs to be checked to see if it needs some type of adjustments

I have Singer Machine 7470 and when i try to fill the bobbin on top of the machine it make a noise and it wouldn't spin it keep making a noise. Please help

Noisy top bobbin winders is usually caused by no oil on the spindle, or the noise could be coming from a dry top shaft under the balance wheel which is very common

My singer 7470 is skipping stitches on the left hand side ie. if im doing letters it misses the bottom 1/3rd. and other wider patterns misses about 1 in 12 ? i have cleaned bobbin case and it has obviously...

Take the machine in for service by an authorized Singer tech.

Hitting the bobbin case may have knocked the timing off and the shuttle may have to be replaced.

Trying to fix this yourself may lead to more problems and additional expense.
