1> Too many programs loading automatically at Start up tend to slow down the system. Try and remove some of these programs which you don't need to start-up automatically.
2> Defragment your hard-disks
3> Some Antivirus programs slow down the system. Use a good Anti-virus software like Avira/AVG which don't hamper the system performance.
