Re: virus prob

First if possible update the virus definitions, second, go into safe mode by pressing F8 right before your computer starts to boot up, choose safe mode. third, do a full scan of your whole system. this should eliminate the virus. make sure though you do it in safe mode. hope this helps you.

* If you have recently scanned for viruses and you are not infected, you may skip the scan and click Next.

I cant open any antivirus website

It seems like your pc is infected with some sort of a spyware. You need to disable one component that is preventing you to access those security websites.

Do the following:

Right click on the "My Computer" or"Computer" icon in your Desktop and select "Properties".
Click on the "Hardware"tab.
Click on "Device Manager".
Click on "View" menu and select "Show Hidden Devices"
Look for "Non-plug and play drivers" and double click on it.
Look for this item:"tdsserv.sys".Right click on this item and select disable.
You will be prompted to restart.
Restart the computer.

Use a good anti-virus software. There are many free ones, like the very popular AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. Also, the Avast! Home Edition and Windows Defender are great. You can also try the Microsoft Windows Maliculous Software Removal Tool.

The downloads are available at CNET and the last one is a special program available only at the Microsoft Download Center. It has to be downloaded, used and then removed from the PC. It is updated every month, so you need to make sure that you use it every month after downloading from the site.

To prevent damage, later on you must have backups of the files on your PC, either on hard disks or DVDs. You can use a back-up software like the preloaded Windows Backup and Restore Center available in Windows Vista. You can also copy your important software and data manually onto these media.

Don't backup now, or you are going to backup the virus too (if it is really there) and waste your time. Remember, the virus cannot do anything while the computer is switched off.
