There is a company through Alibaba (a global trade company network) that can get you just about any projector part period. They can be contacted at http://yylamps.en.alibaba.com/index.html They are super fast and very eager to help and earn your business. I ordered a color wheel for my Infocus SP4800 from them and got it from hong kong in 4 days! (it did cost me $83 part and shipping, but couldn't find it anywhere else)
Hope this helps anyone else out!

Purchase a broken one on ebay and follow directions at:
http://home.comcast.net/~jexkids/Ebay/colorwheel/How_to_replace_Color_Wheel.htm

Most broken projectors still have a working color wheel. If in doubt, ask them to verify that the color wheel is intact by removing the bulb and looking at it. Easy to see from the bulb compartment.

If you want to fix this, I called InFocus and told them my color wheel broke, and they said it would cost $259 to fix, plus $30 for shipping back.

Infocus SP4805 buzzing noise

Hi dcabbarno

The buzzing noise is a broken colourwheel and the shadow could be a part of the colourwheel that is obstructing the light engine or it could be your packlight pipe ( tunnel with 4 tiny mirrors in it ) that was damaged when the colourwheel broke.

I do unfortunately not have the part numbers of the parts that I mentioned , but you could assist by opening up the unit and supplying me with the part numbers.

The colourwheel you will spot straight away once you've taken off the top cover of the Projector , the packlight pipe is situated right next to it - looks like a small tunnel that's got 4 mirrors inside it - takes the light into the light engine.

Once you've supplied me with these I can get you prices and places to order it from and will help you with instructins on how to replace them - it is quite easy to DIY.

Thanks for using Fixya !

My color wheel shatered

Hi there

The colourwheel on a DLP Projector is really cheap and easy to replace.

You'll see once the machine is open that the clour wheel is in a bracket and fastened with 2-3 small screws.

Simply unscrew the bracket , take out the lint that goes from the colourwheel to the Mainboard and plug out the small connector situated right next to the lint.

If your new colourwheel doesn't come in it's own bracket , simply take out the 3 screws on the bottom of the existing colourwheel and screw in the new one.

Remember to plug back in the small connector and lint into the Motherboard once your colourwheel is in. Very , very quick and easy to do.

Hope this will help you.

Color Wheel SP 4805

well, u might laugh at how i have solved this problem a couple of times... yea, the colour wheel on my sp4805 came apart to pieces, literally. the first time it was only two of the six segments, so i reglued em with SUREHOLD all american super glue. it lasted perfectly for about , say, 5 months or so... then, it happenned again this time shattering all of the six segments to pieces. oh, no!!!!! well, i breathed woundly and looked for the glue one more time... yes, an artesan work that took me about 3 hours and my eyes crying to almost perfectly glue together all of the six segments one by one, each one in pieces and this time the color, of course, isnt so perfect, but close to it... how long will it last this time? can someone tell me why no one sells this pieces, it would be a great business over the internet!!! i dont wanna bury my sp4805 in the backyard... and i dont know if the colour wheel can sustain any more glue... lol. well, its just a solution for a few months while u can save for a new proyector... shame for infocus... hope it helps u. let me know if u know about someone who sells color wheels ok?
