Yes, I have the same problem with IE 7 in one of my computers. It is frequently giving me the same message and closing. In the other computer I have IE 8 and here is different, the first time I try to open it it doesn´t go: it says the program is not responding and I send the report to microsoft. The second time I try it will open OK,,,

    Annoying on both computers.

I have the same problem...often when I have several tabs open and trying to blog..if i click a link I get the typical error message ...if I wait until it begins to restart I can save a lot of wait time by closing the tab but this has gotten annoying enough that it has encouraged me to use Mozilla more and more since this doesn't occur with Mozilla..it's areal pain and the only problem that I've had with IE 8 but it happens repeatedly..I've tried both blocking popups and not blocking and it doesn't make a difference!

HI,
The following problem was observed on many system that IE8 beta version. You would have uninstall and reinstall IE 8
To uninstall IE8, you can go to the following link and click on the FIX it button
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700

To redownload IE8
http://www.microsoft.com/india/windows/internet-explorer/?wt.srch=1

Since you are booking tickets and i think you need a solution at the earliest , you can download and install another browser like mozilla , opera so that your work doesnot suffer. Microsoft is scheduled to release a patch for the problem soon.

Thanks
proton

SOURCE: constantly encountering an error and needs to close

I think, its some Add-on which is creating this problem in IE.

Please check the Add-ons in the Tools "Manage Add-Ons" Menu and try Enable / Disable for the Add-on which you think is not required for your IE.

Registry errors

You may have encountered the following message while browsing certain websites:

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://<website>.com. Operation aborted."

This really has nothing to do with your browser or your computer. You get this error because of faulty web coding from the webmaster's end.

IE displays this error when it is unable to open a particular element on a web page.

There are many things you can do to troubleshoot this kind of problem.

Upgrade Internet Explorer.

This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer 8. Navigate to Microsoft download Center and click on the "Download" button to upgrade to IE8 or IE9 (see Below).

IE 8

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

IE 9

Click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options." Hit the "Advanced" tab.

Click to remove the check mark next to "Show friendly HTTP error messages" under "Browsing" sub-headings.

Click on "Apply" and hit "OK." Please note this works mostly for Internet Explorer 6, although there is no harm in trying this on older or newer versions.

Add the specific website that is producing "Operation aborted" error under "Restricted Sites."

Click on the "Security" tab under "Internet Options."

Single-click to highlight "Restricted Sites."

Hit on the "Sites" button and click on "Add."

Type the URL of the website and hit "OK."

This works for Internet Explorer 7, but again, you can try this in earlier versions.

Disable or require prompt for "Active Scripting" when you view the specific website.

Click on the "Security" tab.

Click to highlight 'Restricted Sites" zone.

Navigate down to the sub-heading "Scripting."

Click to select "Disabled" under "Active Scripting."

You may also choose "Prompt" if you want IE to issue a prompt when opening the specific web page or website.

If you are still worried about the registry or need to fix any problems with it

You can run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Hope this helps.

Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience

Do you get the message for _all_ web-sites, or just a specific web-site? What URL?
Does the message happen on _any_ computer that accesses that web-site?
What Operating System are you using?
Which version (6? 7? 8? 9beta?) of Internet Explorer are you using?

Is there a known problem with the HP J4680 and IE8?

The problem is usually with the web site being printed. Various website designers use different methods to create their pages. Some use tables and frames which present a problem for the print software.

1) Wherever possible, look for a "Printer Friendly" version of the web page

2) Failing this, from the IE print icon drop-down box (down arrow) choose "Print Preview" > Click Page Setup icon (gear icon) > Select page settings of your choice. Try printing by clicking the printer icon.

3) When encountering a webpage created with frames: Click IE print icon drop-down box (down arrow) choose "Print Preview" > Click Page Setup icon (gear icon) > Select "As laid out on screen" or "All frames individually" or "Only selected frame". Try printing by clicking the printer icon.

I hope this information was helpful.

IE error message, closes when entering an address

I always use Firefox as these problem never happen and it is free program and easy to download.
but to answer your question, go to IE and in tools select internet options and delete all temp. files and files stored on your computer. You may have some cookie that is causing the problem. Other causes may be a virus. but first do as I suggested and restart your pc. at any rate. here is the link to download firefox

Hi,
This happens because some important files requires for IE might got corrupted or deleted due to improper shutdown or virus problem. Just reboot your PC into sfae mode and try opening your IE. If problem persists in safe mode too, then download IE8 from here and install it.
I hope this is helpful to you

Quicktime out of date

Download Opera or Avant browser. The Apple site uses Quicktime files on the Homepage. Your DLL files maybe corrupt and IE uses the same DLL's so it is going to crash. I would first UNINSTALL Quicktime. then try IE. If it still "encounters a problem" download Opera, it does NOT use the IE engine as does Avant. You should then be able to get the NEW version of QT
