Question about Boating
I have a Pontoon Boat with an electric engine (Minn Kota E-Drive). The controller (throttle control) has key in it yet when I turn the key to the off position, it stays on. As a result, I cannot charge it as the system does not allow it to be on and charge at the same time. I have returned the controller and received a new one. It does the same thing! I'm at wits end....The only way to turn it off is to yank the negative or posive cable going to the engine.
Check the short multiwire control cable ( the small that come out from the inside of the motor not the long that goes to the throttle ). On my motor, there was a short circuit in this cable as a result of keeping the main relay on even if the key was at off.
