Question about HP LaserJet 2605DTN Color Printer

1 Answer

NT Driver needed

I need a NT driver for a legacy system which I cannot update at this time. Most computers on the network are XP or Server2003, but I have to have a couple of NT machines. Anyone know of a Windows NT 4.0 driver for the 2605dtn? HP does not make one to my knowledge. (Of course, I find that out after I have the printer in place).

This software will run on NT 4.0 only. You will need to have NT Service Pack 3 on your systems. Just hit the green download button after you do the verification

Pen drive is not support on mu lge5 laptop please advise to install them

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices or for Windows 7 click start right click on computer select properties in the left pane device manager scroll through all of your devices. If you see a yellow question / exclamation mark ? ! or a Red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver software. If you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver If you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it. or you might have to download them Rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours. Windows XP/Vista/7/8 This might take some time being a freeware driver solution Note: The Driver program will find all of your outdated drivers This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point. Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated
if you need more help with this or if i have missed the problem post a reply Hope it helps.

Im using ml150 g5 with xp os, where can i get lan driver for xp or other driver that is xp compatible.thanks

HP didn't make driver for WinXP, since this is a server and supposed to run either Linux or Server2003 or 2008.

I would try one of the Server 2003 drivers and see if you can get it to work, since this OS has the same architecture as XP.

You did not mention, which network adapter you have, so I cant' be more specific. Simply go to HP's support page here and just try them. Hopefully one will get you up and running.

Good luck!

Don't see a Server2003 Driver Set on the ASUS Web Site. You can use the XP Drivers. Goto: find your motherboard. To start look under the 775 Socket... they ask that first then locate P5KPL-AM/PS.
Once installed... MS update will correct or update the Drivers.
Run all of the MS updates after you install all drivers...even external drives. Then load your add-on software last... AntiVirus, etc...

I have a 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g adapter which came with my compaq presario. My wireless network worked with WEP but won't with this computer using WPA2. I think I need to update the driver. Which one...

I do not believe that updating the driver for your network card will solve the problem, although you should always install the newest one for best operation. You can go to Compaq's support page here and see if there is an update available for your model.

If WEP worked for you and WPA doesn't, then it is an encryption problem. Encryption happens on a different layer than the driver, which simply makes your Operating System work with your hardware.

If you are running Windows XP SP1 or SP2, update the operating system to XP Service Pack 3 for best WPA/WPA2 support.

XP Service Pack 1 computers do not support WPA by default and cannot support WPA2. To upgrade an XP SP1 computer to support WPA (but not WPA2), either
  • install the "Windows XP Support Patch for Wi-Fi Protected Access" (link) from Microsoft, or
  • upgrade the computer to XP SP2
XP Service Pack 2 computers by default support WPA but not WPA2. To upgrade an XP SP2 computer to also support WPA2, install the "Wireless Client Update for Windows XP SP2" (link) from Microsoft.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
