Doublclick your speaker icon in your tray (lower right hand corner) and there are seperate sliders for output volume and speaker volumne. If you don't find it there, Start button>control panel>sound and audio icon> advanced settings.

Please vote if this helps you.

Your microphone must be on Mute. Click on Speaker icon on the bottom right -> click on "Mixer" -> if you see any of the volumes muted increase their volume and see if problem is solved. Try using a headphone + mic that are made for chatting.

My Gateway laptop says my sound device is working properly, but the sound only works if headphones or speakers are plugged into the jack. how do i fix this?

It sound like your headphone jack is the default sound device. Go to control panel > sounds > look at the devices listed. Click on the speakers that have a device connected to them. You may have two selections for speakers, but one may be tied to a sound device and the other to headphones. Highlight the sound device and click on make this device the default sound device and hit apply.

No sound from new NV52 gateway laptop, checked all the obvious things, the driver is working, everything in properties and device driver is working, nothing is muted, just no sound, not even at boot up.

if u look sound driver in device manager however it canot be stall.so look it in control panel in speaker sign if here is deam and we can not move any setting .it is instalation fault and not using proper driver. then we can say it is hardwere fault.

My left speaker on my gateway ML3706 laptop just stoped working

If you get sound from both sides of the headphones when you plug it into the same jack the speakers normally plug into all you need to do is replace the speakers. If you mean you plug the headphones into the cd drive that's nothing special. You could have a bad sound card, bad connection in the jack, or bad speakers.

Speakers have stop having sound

1. Please plug in a set of speakers or headphones known to be in working order.
a. If the known-to-be-in-working order speakers or headphones work, your existing speakers are faulty.
b. if the known-to-be-in-working order speakers or headphones do not work, your existing speakers are fine, and your sound card is faulty.
