If you oiled the belt, it may be slipping and can no longer grab the drum to make it rotate. It should be replaced. Also check the belt tensioner and other rollers as well as the main drive motor. The drive belt pulleys, drum, and other supports should be de-greased before you replace the belt so they don't accidentally get contaminated from any residual oil.

the rollers or belt idler may be corroded, use mineral oil or special bearing lubricant. DO NOT USE WD-40 OR 3 IN ONE OILS. you may find that they may need replacement.

My dryer squeaks

First you should try to determine what the squeak is related to, does it happen every time the drum rotates or more frequently. This will give you some idea of where to look. You should disconnect it , take off the top and get someone to rotate the drum by hand while you listen. Moving parts are dangerous don't put fingers in. Commonly the outer drum bearing or belt idler need lubrication. Don't lubricate the belt. More details if you provide more clues.

My dryer was squeaking really bad, so I sprayed WD 40 on the pulley & belt, squeaking stopped but the dryer also stopped turning. The pulley still turns but the dryer drum doesn't

The belt is slipping now. Need to clean the WD40 off, use methylated spirits, isopropyl or rubbing alcohol on a cloth.

Very loud squeaking noise - like a noisy loose fan belt on a car.

The dryer needs to be rebuilt, new drum belt and drum rollers to cure this problem.

When we start our dryer it makes a loud noise as if it struggles to get the drum moving. Once the dryer is moving it has no trouble moving, but every time we start it, the noise happens again even if i was...

Is this noise like a loud buzz or hum? If it is it may be the motor draging
and can't quite get going. bearing getting worn.
Also check drum rollers or glides and the idler pully one of them may
be dragging if they are you might put a little high temp oil on it.
Hope this helps..

Frigidaire dryer model # FDEB34RGS2 Squeaking

There is a tension pulley that holds pressure on the belt, as well as wheels that the drum sits on. A drop of oil on the bearing of each one should solve the problem, unless the wear has gotten too far, and need replacing.

Dimming lights and slowing wipers ????

The squeak noise is probably a belt. Most likely it has moisture underneath it that evaporates once the engine gets warm. Its a good idea to change your belts every couple of years, just make sure you use a Gates brand belt. Mazda engines are particular about their belts. May be a good idea to change the timing belt too, about every 60,000 miles.
