When I plug it in, the green LED light on the power supply lights. When I attempt to turn the computer on, the fan starts then stops and the light goes out. Any ideas on the problem here?
have you added any hardware recently or opened the case for any reason? the power supply is often the first thing to go on computers. if it is still under warranty, you might need to send it off.
if you want to try it yourself, i'd say open your case and make sure the power cable to the motherboard is connected securely (there should be a 20 pin connector and possibly a separate 4 pin connector). of course, make sure the power chord is connected securly to the back of the computer. make sure the psu is on 115 instead of 220 (unless you need 220).
good luck!

Bought a Sony 36X max. enhanced ECC computer from Salvation Army store, as is. LOL. Hooked it up to my screen and turned it on. Then, hmm, it made a continual winding-up sound and an information screen appeared. I also noticed the telephone module plug is missing from the back of the unit where all the electronic plugs are at. At least it semi-works it but seems something is missing! LOL. What to do next? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
