Question about Dryers
Not sure how to rehook the dryer belt. It was making a squeaking noise, I tried to fix it and now it is making a worse sound. Please, send some suggestions. Thank you. Thanks, Rick McCoy
It sounds like you are having a problem with the tensioner for the dryer belt - when this device starts to fail, it can sometimes be lubricated with oil and last a little while longer, but will usually need to be replaced. The squealing you hear is a dry bearing for the tensioner pulley. While you're in there, also look aroud and listen if you hear any strange noises coming from the other spots. There could also be issues with the dryer support rollers or support guides.
I am asuming the belt is ok and the drive motor is working properly.
