How can I fix 8002F334 error in my ps3

I've seen this error code going around for the older PS3's. From what I can gather, it's a HDD issue that can't be cured easily. Here are the steps to take that I found, that seem to work for all PS3 systems.
  • take out the hard drive
  • connect hard drive to pc (running windows 7 64bit, but any windows os should work without other software)
  • open up disk management - in win7 it asked me to make a master boot record, so I did.
  • format in NTSF - that's right, NTSF - don't use quick format
  • shut down pc, take out hd, take usb drive too
  • put hd back in ps3, put usb stick in ps3
  • boot ps3
  • a screen will pop-up saying the hard disk have to be formatted
  • hold start + Select for 5 sec.
  • After formatting the system will restart and the update will start installing
  • configure your ps3 setup - done
  • Remember to get the latest firmware from SONY onto the USB drive.

I updated my ps3 to firmware 4.60 it downloaded but its not installing it gives me an error. The code i get is 800f0a7. Please help me...

It sounds to me like a disk error. Like out of space error. Try making sure you have enough space on your hard drive to install the new update.

How can i install the game Rage on my PS3 slim?

It appears that you have a bad spot on your hard drive. And may need to be replaced. Sometimes shutting down improper will defect it. Static electricity will do the same thing. Format the harddrive and start over if format dose not work replace the hard drive.Have a professional do it the hard drives are delicate an can damage easily.

Just installed latest update and my system keeps freezing

If you system keeps freezing after you installed your system updates it is possible that you did not get a clean install of the update and your hard drive has corrupted data on it. The link below will help you address this. Note if you still have trouble then you have a more serious hard ware problem.

PS3 Update successful,install failed,systemrebooted,error8002F14E

On the playstation 3 site error code tool says this code is an issue updating the PS3 sytem software. Try to start with the hard drive uninstalled then try again installed. If that dont help i would format the hard drive in a laptop and see if it helps. worst casr scenario you could dissasemble the PS3 and unplug tha battery on the main board and see if that helps. Good Luck

Ps3 updates causing disk error

poppin it into another machine will do nothing. its the drive thats bad, not the machine.
U can buy another drive if u wish as they are not that expensive and worth it and u will still play ps2 games on it as the HD has nothing to do with backwards compatibilty.

u can buy a 160 gig drive for around $100 sometimes less and in ur ps3 manual it tells u how to replace it.

PS3 update problems

Ok, no matter how you try to install the firmware it will always write it to the hard drive first before install. Now if it gives you the 800 error while downloading it's your hard drive and it may need to be re-formatted or replaced. If you get an error during installation, then therewas a misplaced piece of code during the download and it needs to be downloaded again.

BTW, the power button default reset is ONLY for the Video output settings.

Hope this helps. Good luck and happy gaming!!

Installation of linux on sata hard disk

RHEL3 does not support SATA disks...

If you want to stick with RHEL3 then no way you can use the SATA drive. only IDE drives will work. Also no seperate working drivers is available..

See this link
it says that only from RHEL4 update 1 that the SATA disk is supported, and that too involves some specifics to work properly
