Question about Casio Serial RS-232 Cable (CELL-300)
Have an old Casio SF r 20 organizer that was working fine with XP Home until I had a quad core AMD motherboard installed recently. When I try to transfer data I receive th emessage "An error has occured during initialization of the serial port". I don't have a separate serial card plugged in to a slot. The serial cable is plugged straight in to the motherboard. I have tried a USB- serial adapter without success. Any suggestions.
Software that accesses serial ports usually allow you to specify WHICH port you want to connect via.
Your new board should have COM1 and possibly COM2... but perhaps your old setup was running from COM3?
Connect the Casio to COM1, and check the software you are using... set that to "look" at COM1 also. That should work!
